the reason that you can take it out of gear is because most cars and pickups come with fully syncromized transmissions. my 93 ford truck will allow me to shift up at 2500 rpms without using the clutch atall because of how the gears mesh and when the engine speed drops, it maches with the road speed for the next gear and allows me to shift.
your 240 will probly not let you do this as easyily because of how wide the gearing is but you will still be able to take the transmission out of gear.
no harm done, just dont try to jam it back into gear.

Sounds like the clutch is ready to go out. If it's well synchronized, you can take it out of gear anyway. Speed shifting saves the life of the clutch but if you don't do it right, you can put extra strain on the synchronizers and shorten the life of the transmission. If the clutch doesn't feel right, chances are it will need to be replaced. Good luck.

it means that you dont have what are called "safety gates" in the gear box. You can shift fast enought that the car doesnt even know that you didnt press your clutch, but be careful. This is a good way to strip your gears as well as damaging your clutch if you do it too much.

You are basicly forcing it out of gear. When it's engaged all the gears are aligned and you can pull it out of gear. Try putting it back in gear, that takes some real talent without the clutch

Cristiano is right. I would not do that too much or it could cause premature wear and then you will start having problems. Don't worry unless the thing jumps out on its own.
