You clearly have a leak if you have to keep adding to the reservoir. Check for leaks under your car. Then tell your service tech what you found.
As far as the LOW message, there is a sensor in the coolant reservoir that is famous for failures. Ask him to check that out also.
All of these things should have been checked when they performed the thermostat repair.

Sounds like it may be drinking it. That would be a bad head gasket. It should have a 302 but may have the 5.4 engine. If it's the 5.4 with dual overhead cam, it's a big pain. If it's a standard engine with the cam in the block it won't be too hard to change the head gasket. Make sure it's not leaking anywhere. Check the ground and make sure it's dry when you park it...understand that the air conditioner will spill out water so look for anti-freeze. Good luck.

you could have a bad head gasket. if you do not see any water leaks under the car.. and if your windshield fogs up from the in side you could have a bad heater core.. would need to now more info or get some q&a on the car to tell you exactly whats wrong..

Ms T, sounds like a typical Ford 3.8L engine. if it has that engine im sorry but its gonna get expensive as they are notorious for blowing head gaskets. its either burning it or leaking somewhere, obviously. it could be the work done. have whoever did it recheck it and then pressure check the cooling system

is it leaking out? is your head gasket blown? take off your oil cap... if there is white stuff on it like yogurt sort of, then that may mean a blown headgasket.

4.6L engine, intake manifold busted, heater core leaking, or if you don't see any leak at all, it may be the front freeze plugs leaking inside the crankcase.
