Its is a manual transmission and it does the same in nuetral. The engine bogs way down if you press on the gas above 2500 rpms. it even stalls out if gas is pressed far enough. some people have said its the vaccum hoses. but I'm just looking for another opinion before I take it in, please help.

check the fuel filter, fuel pump and fuel pressure. also check exhaust pressure because you might have a catalytic convertor going bad

Clogged fuel filter may also be a cause. The car is new enough that it might be an elecronics problem, even an onboard computer.

Be prepared to answer a few questions when you do take it in. Does the engine accelerate smoothly to the 2500 rpm rate?
Does it behave the same way under load? (in gear)
Does it stall out immediately when you stomp on the gas?
Can you rev it up to, say, 2000 rpm and hold smoothly?

Truly sounds like a bad fuel pump. You can kind of guess if you rap it up to 2500 and then spray some ether into the intake. If it winds out, then it's a good guess that you aren't getting enough fuel. If it still won't wind up, it may be a timing problem. Good luck.
