1992 Pontiac Bonneville SE (3.8-liter V6 FWD-AT 203,617miles)
Started out a while ago with knocking under heavy acc.Noticed after sometime that upon cranking over the ign. was an obvious clicking from stereo speakers (even if radio were turned off). Headlights dim once in a while in both idle and drive. The spkrs would click by hitting the window switch.
The high end of the problem came when I tried to start the car and wouldn’t turn over, after multi tries it was suggested that it may be the batt. I received a jump and it did the trick. After this it would turn over but start got harder. Sometimes it would start great other times it would knock and ping loudly and not start. The knock on acceleration between (2000-3000rpm) got worse and would actually become under-powered (slow down as if braking while supposed to acc.) when the knock set in. It even cut off on me once when rolling out from a stop. Now it won’t start at all. What should I be looking at? need more info?

the problem is intermitten. took panel off and switch seems to be good. possibly a short?

I just took my car to AutoZone because the check engine light was on. Their computer said i needed a new O2 sensor. I bought it and installed, but the check engine light is still on.
I go back to AutoZone and ask for another test. The guy there tells me to disconnect NEG. battery cable for a few seconds and it should clear. I did that and my lights still on. So I go back inside and another guy tells me it will clear after 50 turns on the ignition key.
Its this right?

I own a 2002 Toyota Caldina, when the air condition is on i can smell petrol inside the car. If i cut the out the air conditioning and the fan is running the smell of gas is more. What could be the problem.

I can buy the stock OEM style clutch for $110, I can get a centerforce I clutch for $205, a centerforce II for $245, or a centerforce duel friction clutch for $270. what is the difference in these. I can't see spending a bunch more money for something that won't last as long. what are the pros and con's of each?

My car is a mostly stock 1985 supra with the 5M-GE motor.

I want to buy an old vw bus from the 60s or so and tour the country. I want to switch the engine to a diesel that way i could convert it to run on biodiesel. I would convert it straight from gasoline to biodiesel, but this is not possible. Biodiesel costs a lot less and is good for the environment. Does anybody have any advice?
