How do you kno if your transfer case motor is set rigt? There is High,Neutral and Low on the transfer case motor. The switch i have in my SUV is Auto, 4 Wheel Drive High, and 4 Wheel Drive Low . If it is set in Auto...what should the transfer case motor be reading?

Everytime im going up hill i feel a tug and a pull like its getting caught than going free. I know it's not my transmission. Do anyone know what it might be. I drive a 1999 Ford Explorer
