When I back up from a parking spot, I usually shift to D from R before the car stops completely and I step on pedal when the wheels stop. Is that bad for the car? or Its okay? Same with R to D.

We took it to a mechanic because we need to sell it and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. It seems like it's going to die, but usually doesn't. It has a few times, but just starts right back up when I turn it back on. I said surging in the title, but it's more like the opposite of surging - I'm not sure what to call it, but it's like it's going to die. We are stumped and need to sell it. Anyone had a similar problem???

are the pedals oriented towards the left too?

As in..On American cars, the steering wheel is on the left side, with the pedals worked by the right foot. Is it the opposite with cars made for driving on the left side (IE those made for Australia), where the pedals are worked by the left foot?

Please answer quickly, there is money riding on this :P.

The alternator is on one belt and the power steering and AC is on the other. The alternator belt squeeled when ever I put the AC on and eventually broke. I replaced both belts and now the alternator belt sometimes slips and slips more (burning rubber smell) when I turn the AC on. What is going on?
