When I back up from a parking spot, I usually shift to D from R before the car stops completely and I step on pedal when the wheels stop. Is that bad for the car? or Its okay? Same with R to D.

its ok as long as you are not going more then a creap say 1 to 2 mph. you will not damage it . most damage to trannys is from towing with out proper coolers or not getting it seviced every 12k miles it should get a flush ever 12k and a flush & service every 24k miles.

I have experience with this question. I actually damaged a transmission once by shifting it from reverse to drive without stopping completely first. It sheared a pin holding the gear set together and the shaft came out the side of the tranny, so, it is not good to shift without coming to a complete stop first.

Yes, if you want to kill your transmission. Some automatic transmissions are forgiving enough to let you do this once or twice, but don't get it into your head that you can do this al lthe time! IT will eventually damage your transmission which will cost you lots of money to replace.

I would strongly recommend against doing this to your car as it will affect the gearbox negatively. Typically most of the car can handle this at real low speed.

It isn't real healthy, but if you are barely creeping you shouldn't have a problem. It's much better on your tranny to stop completely, though.

no way unless you're talking about just barely rolling. Even then, not a good idea.
