Call a junkyard, you will save a lot of $$$ this way. I had an estimate to replace my A/C condensor alone, and that was about $700. or something ridiculous like that. I went and bought the part alone at the junkyard for about $40. and did it myself, then paid a shop to charge my system for under $100. It has been working great for over a year now... I know the compressor is probably more $$$, but junkyards are wher I get ALL of my parts, and I have never had a problem.

Depends,is it the compressor or the clutch on the compressor. If you can locate one in a junkyard and replace the whole unit it would be the cheapest way to go.
