I can buy the stock OEM style clutch for $110, I can get a centerforce I clutch for $205, a centerforce II for $245, or a centerforce duel friction clutch for $270. what is the difference in these. I can't see spending a bunch more money for something that won't last as long. what are the pros and con's of each?

My car is a mostly stock 1985 supra with the 5M-GE motor.

You trusted Toyota to make your car, why wouldn't you trust it to make spare parts for it? Keep in mind that most of the clutch replacement cost is labor, and the last thing you should consider is saving a few bucks on parts by buying a cheap aftermarket imitation. The "high performance" AM components may or may not be better than OEM but with OEM you at least know what you are getting.

you should probably just stick with the stock clutch, maybe go for the centerforce I, but after that your getting into high performance clutches, and with them you need to change a few things on the car, and since it is pretty stock, you won't really see a benefit of the higher price clutches. You may need to change the fork/clutch piston, have higher spring rates, different ratio's from the fork, different clutch cable, all of that will add up, also some of those will need a different bellhousing possibly, and flywhells, etc, so your better off just going with the stock clutch...

If you plan on keeping the car for while I would put the better centerforce clutch in. Along with throw out bearing and pilot bearing. Also if any doubts replace the rear main oil seal while in there.

if you want good advice, and you use your car in a sporty way, the best maker of clutches, factory or high performance, is LUK.
they have a higher than factory performance setup called the LUK GOLD, which will make you happy for many years to come and worth the money more than you described.
unless your going full race...

Stick with OEM replacement parts. It's a Toyota. The reliability factor is there. If it were a Ford, I would recommend "upgrading" whenever possibly...

if you really into racing and got the money to spend go for the expensive one butt for a mainly stock Carr i go for the factory one.it wont make much of a difference in a stock car.

more expensive clutches have better bonding between the fibres and they can withstand higher stresses and higher heat so fading of clutch is minimised.
so i recommend you to buy a clutch to suit your application better

stick with stock (it's an 85 Toyota), if you drag strip than that's different; but that means where's the drag tires, NOS, turbo, supercharger and the engine.
