what is a while? three months or three years?three months a gas stabilizer will work.after 7 months, drain gas, flush out gas lines. remove carb and take apart and clean and rebuild . fuel injection take out injectors and clean. put on new o rings.change fuel filter.

Other than an expensive test I would say just put in some gas dryer and fuel stabilizer.

just try to start the engine the only that can happen to the fuel is that it mixed with water, this will not damage the engine but it will not work well.
If the engine doesn't start then maybe you need to drain the fuel and add more

remove gas cap does it smell like varnish than NO , if you plan to store it long use a gas stablizer. If in doubt drain it. old gas ruin the fuel system gas pump, injector,plug line, regulator and so forth.

Have you ever heard of when in doubt toss it out. Don't take any chances. Drain it take about 2 gal put it in drain that then put 2 more in you should be good to go.

I m not sure, the same problem happened with my diesel car..I hadd to change the oil first..Then the car will start normally..

drain it. dont use any cleaners such as chemtool or you could loosen deposits and debris in tank that would clog carb or injectors.just refill with fresh gas and start it
