...are you responsible for paying for the repairs? Because it kinda, um, happened to me today. The gas station manager on duty said he'd be asking me for a few hundred dollars, or else would take it to my insurance, which "would jack it up a lot more," in his words. I know I was a bonehead, but money-wise, I just want to make sure I'm responsible before I shell out.

Thanks.

my daughter was involved in an accident in which she was hit from behind. The other driver was at fault and admitted it and a police report was filed. Since the accident was minor she never pursued a claim. Is there a time limit for filing a claim? It has been about 6 months since that happened. I would like for her to get the car repaired.

Norwich Union settled a motor insurance claim for me, but in the process lost my car's complete service history. After many telephone calls over a period of months, and being constantly told the matter was being looked into, they finally admitted the loss, and also that the situation was unacceptable, being only able to supply me with photo-copies of the originals. Their claims department suggested I should take the matter further, and said a member of their customer relations team would contact me. To date, nearly 2 months later, I have heard nothing from them. The service history was extensive, and related to an old vehicle with an exceptionally low mileage, so I consider it extremely important to the value of the vehicle. Am I right to ask for compensation for the loss, and also written acknowledgement of their incompetence!

Some one hit my car and my car was towed to local towing services within 2 hrs of accident. I informed my insurance and they said their "agent/adjuster" will go and see the car within next 24 hrs. But so far it has been 6 days and no one has come to check it. Besides, the towing company is going to charge for each day. Will my insurance pay all the charges for towing or I will have to pay from my pocket?

If you have full coverage and go off of the road and hit a steep ditch and your car is totaled, does insurance companies require a police report to pay your car off or can you just call a wrecking service?

I've never gotten into a major accident and the only fender bender i got into there was barely any damage but it was the other guys fault so i called the cops to see what i should do. When the officer showed up he gave the other guy a ticket and told me my insurance would go up if i filed a claim even though it wasnt my fault. In this type of accident (where both cars are still driveable) I am wondering what to do about insurance and documenting everything without anyone having to get a citation.

I have a car that is financed but it's tore up. I owe two more years on it. It will cost me two grand to get it fixed...it will also take me over a year to save up this money. I can't stand the fact I am paying a note on this car and not being able to drive it. My brother wants to take up payments on the vehicle. He can have the money to fix it in a couple months. Once paid for of course I would give him the title. Is it illegal to do this, if not do you think it's a good idea?? Any suggestions. Thanks.

I just turned 18 a month ago & my mom has been begging me to get my license. In my state, once you turn 18, you dont have to take drivers ed, you can just take the written test and the road test & get your licensed. I passed the written portion but i take my road test next week. IM SO SCARED=[
my mom has been taking me out driving everynight so i can be ready but my friends tell me that even though im practicing it will be much harder and difficult once i get on the road with the instruction. This may seem like a silly question to some but im just a teen..LOL...i keep telling myself that if i pass i wont ever have to go through with it again. what do instructors look for?

I just realized a day or two ago that Gieco Ins. has the wrong VIN# on my policy for my truck. It has been this way ever since I bought it almost 2 years ago apparently. Im aware that should i have gotten in an accident or should i have caused any sort of damage to something/someone that Geico would not cover me at all due to the VIN being completely wrong. I have heard of people getting paid back the money they paid (and even having it applied as credit to them if they keep the insurance) but would like some input into this, since im pretty sure its going to be hell just to get them to accept it.
any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Well, I got my road test done, and I have my license after 6 months of being 17. Well, now that I have it I was informed I would not be helped with insurance. I have a twin as well, but basically I’m asking what the benefits of being put on my grandparents insurance that don’t have any violations or anything opposed to starting my own policy.

My partner is convinced he can drive my sons car. My partner has not owned a car for 6 years and therefore has no insurance of his own. He is convinced he himself would not need insurance as long as my son has his car insured fully comprehensive. My son and I disagree with him but can anybody confirm this for said partner please?

Had a fender bender almost 3 weeks ago, and everyone there thought it was minor damage, so everyone agreed unamimously not to call the police. Now the guy that got hit has more damage than he previously thought, so whats a police report now. Thinking about notifying insurance, but my mom says not to (car in her name). Can they raise your insurance just by talking to them? I mean, there was no police report so really there is no proof. Don't know want to do, because I want to notify them so I don't get in trouble, but my mother and everyone else say don't worry about it. Wreck happened b/c after a stop (and everyone gets close, the guy locked up his brakes going about 15mph, b/c he was watching TV while driving.) Live in Florida and I belive its a no-fault state. When I called police later they said they can't write a report even 5 minutes after everyone left the scene.

I just got in an accident and I think my car will be totalled. I'm expecting to get a claim's check, however I thought about keeping $2000.00 or so for a down payment and having my GAP insurance take care of the rest, can I do that? Any one have experience in this arena? This is the first time I ever had a new car get totalled.
