Insurance & Registration - April 2007

HI there, I have been without car insurance for about three years, I used to have continuous coverage but sold my car and used one of my girlfriends cars since then. But now I am going to buy / or finance another car. Will I face some sort of penalty, or increased insurance rates for not being insured these past few years, even though my driving record is immaculate and I am almost 30 and besides I had no car? Thank you.

two nights ago i was hit by a drunk driver. he blew a 1.4, or maybe a .14 im not sure, but anyway the police charged him because he flew threw a stop sign, hit me, and then i went head on into a pole. i was okay other than a slight concussion, but my car is totaled.

i dont believe he has car insurance, and i only have liability. am i going to have to by myself another car? if so, this is completely rediciouls. i get off work just to go home, and an idiotic drunk driver hits me and now im left with no car?? answers please??

Like for example in my truck is insured with Carmouche Auto Insurance which is a local insurance company in my city, so is it just as good as say Geico or Allstate, even though its local. Can you all give me your advice, and pointers? Thanks

Hi

I co-signed the name of a car to a friend because he did not have permanent license. The car dealer said that when he gets the license they will remove my name from the car. He has already paid for the car and have the car license. We forgot about removing my name. Now we have recieved the registration card which has both our name on it. How can i remove my name from it? Will there be any problem even if i keep my name on the registration?

The seller lives in another state I think MA and I am in Michigan he told me I can do a title search and get a title. He told me he lost the title.

I bought car insurance from AIG on-line; the policy does not state that I am or am not covered when renting a car. I live in Texas. The policy I have does note various 'endorsements' related to Texas. When I call the help desk at AIG and ask if I am covered, they cannot tell me. Does the Texas Auto Insurance endorsements require that my insurance go with me when renting a car? If I am also driving someone else's car, what coverage would go with me as part of standard Texas policy? I have Liability, Uninsured/underinsured, coverage for damage to my auto (other than collision/collision). When I rent a car from say Enterprise, if my own insurance is in force, what extra coverage should I get so I do not have to pay a thing if their car gets scratched or dented? thank you.....frustrated in Texas.

So basically I purchased a car from a private party, which was under lease with Honda Financial, and the title was lost in the mail after the account was paid off. I am now in a situation where the title cannot be replaced due to policy restrictions set in place by Honda Financial. I also cannot drive the car, since the registration/ insurance has expired. I have put quite a large sum of money down, and now the seller is telling me to wait 30 days to file for a lost title(apparently Honda's policy)...

It has already been 25 days since I paid the initial amount.... The seller apparently does not have any money to reimburse me.. This is like a nightmare I have never dreamt of!

Please I need some helpful advice.. My money is tied up, and I don't have a car!

Hi, I asked a similar question concerning this before but didn't explain myself well enough. I was pulled over whilst driving my partners car (she was in the passenger seat with me) and when I took in my documents they wouldn't accept the insurance. It stated on the insurance paperwork (but, alas, not on the certificate) that it is legal for this vehicle to be driven, stating "by any other person for travel to and from a place of business" which I thought covered me as she is a community nurse and I went with her (and drove) for the day. I pleaded guilty by mail and also sent a letter explaining this situation and that I believed to be insured and now I have received a summons to go to court with these documents (for them to consider a lower punishment I presume). A long winded question I know, but has anybody been in this situation before and could advise me? I have never been to court before and am a little worried about it to be honest. Thankyou for your help.

Ok theres this lady that lives in my neighborhood that everyone hates!!! Well i know she has a revoked Drivers License. But she still drives her car that is insured for her husband. I want to find out what insurance company they have the vehicle is insured under to be able to send the insurance company pics of her driving illegally. does anyone have any suggestions??

My sons car packed up yesterday ,the engine blew up,the costs of repairing it was more than the car was worth,so he scraped it today.

On trying to cancel his insurance today he was told that he would have to pay £95 to cover adminstration fees to end the policy early.

Rip off or what,i asked what these costs covered, but they would not give me a break down of their costs involved.

They said that this charge is payable for all people who have been insured with them for less than 12 months,however if i stayed with them for more than 12 months this cost would not be payable!

Last year i change my car and on shopping around for a cheaper quote i ended up cancelling my insurance policy with a different company,i was only charged £4 to cover costs.

Should my son pay these rip off fees of £95 or should he fight them all the way?
