I am servicing my car at the Mercedes dealership and i will get it back in about 2 weeks. He is only 17 but is incorperated on the insurence policy on our mercedes. Is he allowed to drive the loaner car

His name has to be on the rental agreement as a driver. Just because he has insurance or is covered under your policy, does not mean he is allowed to drive the rental. Putting him on the rental agreement doesn't mean he has to drive the car, it just allows him to drive the car. Break it down. You are borrowing a car..it isn't yours..you have permission to drive it. Your son does not..simply put..he doesn't have permission to drive it, he stole it!! And I don't think, even though he is on your policy, your insurance company will cover an accident on a stolen car! He has to have permission from the rental company or the dealer to drive the car.

Since your son is covered by your insurance policy, there shouldn't be anything illegal about him driving the loaner vehicle. However, the dealership might have its own requirements with respect to who gets to drive the loaner vehicle, so you might want to review the paperwork that you received from the dealership or call them up to determine their policies.

I would say that as long as he is a listed driver on your policy, then he would be covered but I would also check with the dealership just in case that they would have some sort of disagreement.

Nope...and double check with the Mercedes dealership instead of here....it's their car so they set the rules, not the people on Yahoo Answers.

Check with the dealer. Maybe, maybe not. If you assume wrong, you could have one gigantic headache on your hands.
