It is impossible to answer this question! The best auto insurance company for one person will be different from someone else's.
It depends on where you are, who your are, how old you are, your driving record, your credit score etc.
The best advice is to shop around. Get quotes from 4 or 5 auto insurance companies (making sure to compare like for like) and pick the one that suits you.

American Family Insurance Co. B/C I am a teenager and got into 1 wreck and they didnt hold it against me by raising rates and they were the cheapest most effective and really cared about my medical treatment following my accident in january by calling me and asking me how I was doing I think they are the best!! also they dont rip off us minimum wage paid teenagers for our insurance I got liability after my accident for $96/mo Allstate Geico State Farm and Progressive wanted $150-350/mo for the same coverage!! I'm staying w/American!!! And just because they are affordable doesnt mean that the policy is bad it is just as good as a $300 policy b/c I had a $4000 medical bill follwing my accident and they paid it in full and I had liability!!!

USAA. Hands down. You may have to join the military to be eligible if you're not a military brat. But they're the best in the business, BAR NONE.
