Mail it priority mail its the easiest. The rate these days I think is $4.05 and it gets there in 2-3 days. If you sent it Parcel Post you would be looking at about $2.00 but would take forever to get there. So if you have $4.05 worth of stamps laying around slap it on an envelope write PRIORITY MAIL on it and ship it out with out a problem. You can also go to www.usps.com website and you can purchase a priority mail label for $4.05 and ship it out as well and have tracking for it. No need to go to post office you can do anything from computer these days. And for priority mail it can weigh up to a couple pounds and I would say a license plate is no more than 1 pound at the most.
Good luck!

RE:
How much does it cost to mail a license plate? Or how much does one weigh so I can look up the postage?
I need to mail a license plate from South Carolina to Florida, anyone know how many stamps I'll need? (Trying to save a trip to the post office)
:-D

This is a good one.... I had applied for a particular vanity plate back in 1987-88 in North Carolina for a pet name my then GF had for me. The state turned me down flat saying the plate was obscene. I couldnt get where they got such a creepy thought about what I thought was an innocuous license plate. About that time, a local column writer for the city newspaper picked up what was going on with my plight from a mutual friend in the Jaycees civic organization. He decided to write a "human interest" story about the hassle I was having with the DMV and what friends, his readers and I thought about the situation. It became a weekly thing with other people sending in plate names they did or didnt get.. About 4-5 weeks into the column series... a plate showed up in my mail from DMV, and sure enough... there it was... in all its glory.. It read:::: STUDMUFN. I held on to that puppy for YEARS, even though I was even offered $$$ to give the thing up....

To the post office and get it mailed. They will weigh it and put the right amount of postage on it. Plus you might want to get it either registered or insured when you send it, to make sure its delivered. You'll also have a record of who signed for it. Good luck

A flat rate Priority Mail envelope is $4.05 until next month. It can be any weight, as long as you use a Flat Rate envelope.
