The vehicle I drive is insured, just not in my name. A woman I know tried to renew her license and because she had purchased her insurance in Navada they wouldn't renew it. Any insight?

I was wondering if they changed the laws for the age to get a drivers license from 16 to an older age.

i was parked in front of a restaurant getting a to -go order because the restaurant parking lot was full and i came out and a man told me that this woman hit my car (92 buick lesbare). She stayed in place while i call the police when he arrived we exchanged insurance information which i have liability i dont know what she has but the police told us he could give us a police report because it was on private property which was at the restaurant. So i know she gonna have to pay for me a door panel but how do i get the money and pocket it instead of getting it fix because its an older model vehicle even if i did had it fixed it would have to get painted and that would look old for my car. So i would rather pocket the money so how do i just get her insurance agency to cut me a check

I called a body shop for an estimate and the first thing he asked is if I'm paying for it or an insurance co....RED FLAG! why does it matter? Is the quality of work going to be substandard (if insurance pays) or excellent if I was going to pay for it on my own? I want the best quality work done since the guy who hit me, his insurance is gonna pay, not no short-cuts so his insurance doesn't pay too much.

My fiancee was invloved in an accident where the fault was clearly a Geico customer's fault. I have nothing against geico and I'm sure they have low rates but her car was totaled and the police report specified that it was the other drivers fault. We need money to buy a new car and it is seemingly impossible to get them to cough it up without getting involved in an expensive lawsuit or signing a paper that puts the fault partially on my fiancee. We even have a witness that verifies the liability of the other party but our lawyer says that it doesnt matter unless we go to court. does anyone have any advice?

The car is in my grandmom's name who is deseaced. When she first died, we did all the paper wrk to have the title changed to my name. I have a copy of the paper work she filled out, but the state did not make the change correctly. (I was told to go right back in to fix it but procrastinated) She's now been dead for at least 3 years so the notary said they can't refile the paperwork (even though I have the carbon copies of the filing) with out her original death certificate b/c it looks shady. My Aunt is in California and is having a hard time locating it. Is there anyway around this? We are limited on parking and I need the car sold yesterday.

Okay....I have a truck that is getting reposessed, long story....well another story anyhow. I chose to cancel the insurance because i bought another vehicle prior to the loan company for the truck taking it. In fact I have wanted them to take it for 2 months, it is still in my yard. Cancelled the full coverage approx 2-3 wks ago. Sunday nite my 14 yr old and his friend decided while i was not home to start it up and drive it around my property. Well they wrecked it into my barn and smashed it up(front end , windshield , side window , mirror , headlight) My question is: Since I still have possession of the truck and it is in my name is there a grace period for insurance? If so will it jeopardise my insurance coverage, i have a good record. BTW I called the police because it took him 24 hr to admit it was them ,I initially thought someone tried to steal it or the repo men wrecked it. So I have a police report proving I did not intentially damage the truck in case the loan company claims

I was involved in a car accident and neither party has accepted responsability. I think the total cost of damage to repair both cars is £1500. I would like to know what is the liklyhood of this going to court. The accident was not my fault but i would prefer to aviod going to court. I am considering just conceeding the case so i can avoid going to court.

Someone close to me, wants me to insure their car on my name. They also want the car registered on my name. The thing is I would, however, the person gets lots of traffic tickets and violations. On top of that he gets into an accident here and there. Now I know this will affect my insurance premiums, and I am fully aware that he will pay those premiums. So that is not the issue, however I'm worried about my driving record. Can his mistakes cause my driving record to slip, even though it is him driving, althrough the car and insurance is on my name? Can this effect me any way possible, other than the premiums? I want to become a professional driver one day for a certain job, and i know they check the driving records. So what should I do? And what effect will this have on me?
