Sorry, but I fail to see how anybody can have a licence suspended and not know it. You cannot legally get a licence in any state or province while your NY licence is suspended. You may be able to get one if you lie and apply for a learner permit. It will not be valid, and the record will show up sooner or later, hopefully not after an accident with all your coverages denied because of a misleading statement. You must clear up the suspension, or plan on a bus pass.

Well, for example if I live in New York state and I get my license suspended, I can't drive in New York State or out of state, because New York state is where my drivers license was issued.

To apply for a drivers license in North Carolina you need to go to a DMV in the state and apply for one. You will also need a North Carolina state drivers license.

From NCDOT on how to get a NC drivers license:
"To receive an original driver license in North Carolina, you must bring at least two acceptable forms of ID; one must reflect your full name and date of birth to the Driver License Examiner. You must complete and pass the written, sign, and vision tests. If you surrender a valid license from another state, the road test requirement is at the discretion of the Examiner. Proof of residency, liability insurance on your car and Social Security Number (or a valid Visa issued by a US Government Agency if SSN not authorized) are required. See the following link for more specific documentation"

No. My brother lived in Denver when his license was suspended (he didn't know) and when he moved back to Chicago and tried to renew his Illinois license he found out Denver suspended his driver's license. He had to fly back to Denver to clear it.

NO you cannot. they will check your driving record before issuing you a license. It will be easier to clear it up in NEw York than in a different state so put it on your to do list before you leave..

State governments do no longer supply out licenses to "illegals". absolutely everyone residing in the country can acquire a driving force's license, if the right place of work work is finished. the government at great would not knowingly hand out licenses to those who they understand have "unlawful" status. i think of if people who're ordinary to be unlawful get licenses, threat is the licenses are handed out via the 'undesirable eggs' in the government places of work, no longer people who folow suited protocol. via the way, giving a individual who isn't a close-by or naturalized citizen a driving force's license isn't unique to the U. S.. As an American, i will acquire a license to stress in virtually any eu united states of america (the ecu extra often than not), see you later as I stay in the country, and pass the driving force's attempt. as a remember of reality, there are particular US state licenses that without delay qualify one to get carry of a French using license. i think of people could end moaning and groaning on the subject of the "illegals", and initiate putting their foot on the backs of people who hire them. it particularly is hassle-free economics: one cuts off the call for (the agencies/ people who hire), there will be no furnish (unlawful immigrants). further, no person starts off grabbing at balls whilst loopy Spring Breakers pass right down to Mexico and trash lodges and resturants in places like Cancun, yet they are going to moan like a jerk approximately "illegals destroying our united states of america".
