Please don't shout at us. More and more states now have an on-line insurance registration database that can be checked. If you read your card carefully, you will probably find a "void if not paid" statement on it somewhere. So yes, if you are in a state that has a data base, you can definitely get a no insurance ticket even with a paper card saying it's good. In some states no insurance will cost you a license also.

yes they can. there is a grace period for paying your premium usually 10 days. If you was withing that period and did pay it then you should be ok you will just have to take the proof of insurance to the court house and show them. Was this due to an accident? Normally they don't run a check for a random stop if you have the proof of insurance with you unless there is an accident.

Nah I don't think so. When cops pull you over the run the vehicle make sure its not reported stolen, check driver's license make sure no warrants or tickets. As long you got an insurance card you good.

Okay, stop yelling. I have no idea however, I don't think the police have the time or manpower to check every ones insurance w/all that they do in a day.
Get your insurance back.

If the cop does do the check on your insurance you can get a ticket. You need a valid piece of insurance, your insurance goes invalid when you don't pay (unless prohibited by law).

However, most cops won't bother to check.

(And please don't yell. Cap's makes it harder and more frustrating to read.)

Depends on your states DMV cross ref. and verifcation systems.
...
Most patrol cars have wireless computers, printers and scaners for bar code on your lic.
...
SO if DMV is on the BALL, you may be behind the 8 ball!!
...
It does pay to be polite to the officer pulling you over!!
