I paid my loan in full 3 months back. I have been calling my bank to return my title, but they still haven't returned my title. They are saying that they are working with Vehicle Registration Department in Florida (currently I reside in Texas) to get my title back. It has been unusually long time. I am not sure How do I handle the situation. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

My car was rear-ended while disabled and both of the drivers were given citations. I just tried to get insurance and upon checking this MVR report, the state is considering me to be at-fault!!
How do I contest this and have the mvr report changed so that im considered not at-fault?

My sister hit my car accidentally. She said she would "take care" of the damage so I did not file a report. I got three estimates and sent them to her. She says i am trying to rip her off and she want to have her boyfriend fix the car with junk yard parts. I want to just turn it over to her insurance company but I don't know who it is and I do not have collision or comprehensive on my own car so I cannot place a claim with my own insurance company.

Had a car wreck and ticketed for following too close. My car was totaled and it was almost 3 years ago. I was told if it was more than 3 years you did not have to report it. I'm Applying for insurance through another company. In illinois a ticket is wiped off if you take a special class, which I did, so the ticket was dropped. Do I have to report the wreck/ticket on the application?

Okay here is what happened. Around the first of July I came home to find a car parked illegally in a spot BETWEEN my parking spot and the next, while trying to inch into my spot ( i had no where else to park) I accidently nicked the back bumper of the vehicle. I got out and looked and saw a small scrape on it - no damage to mine. So I immediatly went to my neighbors door and told her "I'm sorry but whoever's car this is I just nicked the back bumper of it" she looked out and said, oh it's just my mom's, it's just a nick, don't worry about it." "are you SURE" I say and she says "yeah, forget about it".

Well of course hindsight is always 20/20 and i see now several things I should have done immediatly but i didn't. So that brings us to now...

It's been well over a month and now I get a call from this lady wanting me to fix her car and claiming between $1000-$2000 of damage. She said tonight on the phone when she called she will give me until Monday to make up my mind on what I'm going to do about it.

What would you do??

I sold my car as part of a trade in to a motor dealer in June. I sent of my part of the registration document, but this has either been lost in the post or at Swansea. When I sold the car, I got a refund on my road tax. The DVLA, without previous enquiries or warnings, have now issued me with a fine for not informing them that I have sold the car and haven`t retaxed the car or Sorned it.
The problem is I did inform them, but as I just sent the document by normal post, I can`t prove that I sent it. How do i fight this?

When someone hits your car and they are totally at fault and want to pay for the damage through insurance, does YOUR insurance company have any involvement? Do they find out?

Trafi was slow on the freewey and i was going maybe 15-20 mph and signaled and checked my blindspot and pulled into the carpool lane. I then heard a lond screetch for about 3-4 seconds and was hit in the rear drivers side of my trunk and bumper. The driver then proceeded to loose control of her vehicle and hit the median and flip onto her side.

I am trying to first find out if anyone out there can tell me who might be a fault and what the process is for this accedint since this is my first accident.

Having gone to a car dealership on Sunday and told them I need a car by Friday (tommorrow), they have left it until today to inform me that they need the ORIGINAL insurance certificate to tax the car and let me have it. I have called them twice throughout the last 3 dys to check all is going to be okay for Friday. I have only got confirmation of the insurance by fax.

Are they obliged to organise having the documents couriered to them, or was it my responsibility to have it sorted before now?

We're moving, and renting a moving truck. We definitely need the CDW (collision damage waiver) "insurance" coverage, but the vendor's charge is excessive. Are there any independent companies that will sell short-term collision/damage/loss insurance, so I don't have to buy it from the vendor?

I've been buying low-cost CDW for car rentals this way, but the company I use doesn't cover truck rentals and I can't find another company that will do it.

Our liability insurance for our car will provide coverage, but not for any damage that happens to the truck we will be driving.

I live in CA and went to the DMV and they said that it's impossible to look up without knowing the plate number. Specifically, he is a truck driver and I know he has at least one truck. How can I get the title to the truck and then sell it? The DMV suggested that I contact the lien owner of the truck, though I'm not sure who that is? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I have to reinstate my license to the state of Florida but I live in Ohio at the moment.... My license was suspended due to not having insurance so they sent me a letter stating that I needed to do the following: "Purchase a personal injury protection (PIP) and property damage liability (PDL) insurance policy."

My question is: does that mean just regular liability, cheap-o insurance? or is that some kind of special insurance? I am currently thinking about gettin regular, cheap insurance from Progressive.com

Hello all,

I had bought a car in March, I was driving back from the place of purchase to where I live. On the way, I was stopped by a police officer, he confiscated my car and advised me that I would need to pay a £100 fine to get my car back. So I did. I had showed him all of the proof of purchase, he still confiscated. Furthermore, he said that, that was the end of it.

Recently I got a letter through the post for a court hearing.

Basically, my questions are;

1) I heard from a colleague that, you are allowed 3 days AFTER the purchase of your vehicle to get it insured. Is this correct?
And if so, is there a place or website of where I can acquire some literature regarding this information?

2) Also is there anything I should think about taking or saying to court?

Any responses will be MUCH appreciated, as I am kind of getting worried, just in case they take my licence from me, or give me some points.

Thanks all
N

My wife was the registered owner. She had to provide an SR 22 when she got her license back 2 yrs. ago. We recently bought another car and informed our ins. carrier that we had sold one and bought one. We then received a letter stating that since an SR 22 was reported on this policy, we have to provide proof of sale on the first auto. Can they do that?

My friend bought a car for her live-in boyfriend to drive in the winter (we're in Canada) as his Mustang was no good in the cold.

Before she bought it (second-hand), she called her Insurance company (broker) to make sure they would cover him. She gave them all the info they needed in order to make a proper assessment, INCLUDING the fact that he has three speeding tickets under his belt. The broker said that he was OK and gave her a rate, & the go-ahead to buy the car.

Now, the Insurance company sent my friend a letter saying that in fact, her boyfriend WAS NOT covered, and that they WILL NOT insure him, because of the speeding tickets he's incurred. Furthermore, they are asking HER for a letter from her confirming that she will NOT allow him to drive the car!

So now, she's got an extra car and is severely out-of-pocket!

Shouldn't the insurance company bear the responsibility of this, given they told her he was covered? She wouldn't have bought the car otherwise? Help!
