I'm looking at buying a 2007 Jeep Commander and have been doing some research on all of the available options. I checked out the SRT8 Family which includes the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 with the 6.1 liter, 420 HP Hemi engine. (insert Tim, the tool man, Allen grunt).
Why don't they put it in the Commander?

I think I broke it please help! My 2004 Grand Cherokee is making terrible noises when turning, feels very rumbly when driving and any movement of the wheel. Very strange. I had it in 4 wheel drive to get out of a snowbank I was parked in and it seems like it hasn't disengaged since. I'm not sure what I broke? I am 300 miles away from the warranty being gone. I'm afraid to drive it anywhere. I tried backing it up and moving the wheel numerous time but it still won't disengage. Not sure what else to do! Can someone help?

My mom has an 02 jeep grand cherokee limited and about once a week the check engine lite comes on and once you shut it off it doesn't start or anything. the headlites are bright all electrical works but it won't turnover. We have taken it to the dealer they replaced the battery cables and said nothing was wrong. The next week still having problems. We have to disconnect the battery for about a half hour sometimes before it will start. I did the turn key 3 times to do the OBD it put out a code p4033(i think thats right). Next day try to start the car about 28degrees nothing happens tried to jump it off..nothing. try the check code..nothing.. If anyone else is having or have had this problem please let me know cause the dealer cant fix it and it sucks!

I NEED A DIAGRAM OF A CARB FOR A 1989 JEEP LAREDO ITS A FUEL INJECTED SYSTEM.4.0 L ON START UP THE VEH. IDLES FINE BUT AS IT WARMS UP IT STARTS TO REV UP REAL BAD UP TO 2000 RPM. IS THERE A SIMPLE ADJUST MENT OR IS THERE A SENSOR THAT NEEDS REPLACED, I TRIED TO ADJUST THE IDLE SCREW BUT IT CHANGES NOTHING.I LOOKED INSIDE CARB WHEN IT IS RUNNING AND THE BUTTERFLY IS CLOSED.I WAS TOLD THERE IS A SENSOR ON OR IN THE CARB THAT REGULATES THIS. THANKS FOR ANY HELP.

My front wipers (both) have stopped working. Its likely due to accidental use with heavy snow, ice buildup. Before I assume the motor, what can i troubleshoot in terms of the fuses?

How can i gain access to check the C1 Fuse, its a bit farther up and out of reach?

There was also some reference to a module under the hood. Is there anything i can check there?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I have an 04 nissan murano and was thinking of switching it to the 07 jeep wrangler. I have a feeling I will kick myself in the A*s for doing it, but it's such a cool car. I just wanted to know if it would handle like my murano in the snow and just in general if it's a problematic car.

I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee sport. There is a problem with my tail lights as well as the dash lights.
The switch to turn the lights on isn't working correctly. If I mess with it for a few minutes, I can get both the tail lights and dash lights to come on, but then as soon as I put on the headlights, the others go out.
I've checked the fuses and they all seem okay. Has anyone else had this problem before? I can't afford to take this to a mechanic, so I was hoping to fix it myself. (Or get a friend to do it for me.)
Any help out there?

I live in New England and we got hit by a storm and it says it has automatic four wheel drive but it doesn't seem that way. The car is all over the place! Does anyone else have this problem and if something could be wrong what could it be?

I have power through the master lock/unlock switch. I have power on up/down switch but only in one position I foget if it's when I go up or I push down. Both front windows work. niether master or rear door switchs move rear windows at all. any ideas THANKS

when i start my Jeep the oil pressure is a little lower than normal, as it warms the pressure drops, eventually to zero and the check guages light comes on. When I accelerate the check guages light shuts off and the pressure rises slightly, only a little bit! I have plenty of oil, and I had it changed 3000 miles ago. What is my Jeeps problem?

after the engine warms up, it jerks only when i give it a little gas and hold it steady. if i give it a good amount of foot, it's fine and gets out like a champ. after this starts up and i idle at a stoplight, it surges up from 1000 to almost 2000 rpm and i have to really stay on the brake to keep it from jumping out. what's the deal?

Additional Details

Yes my jeep can easily switch through gears when the engine is turned off. My jeep is a 4 cyl. engine with 5 speeds. I noticed just within the last day that it was harder for me to shift into different gears and realy quickly it wont let me realy switch gears at all with the engine running. And the clutch fluid is full. Thanks for helping me so far, and let me know what you think! much appreciated!

I am contemplating getting a jeep wrangler to replace my existing 1950s M38a1(CJ 5) jeep & my car - less to tax insure mot ect & it would take up less space or would I be dissapointed with it ?

The FM radio turned to static....all stations - the radio doesn't pick up any FM stations. The AM stations are fine.

We just flushed all the fluids on my 01 Limited w/4.7 and the hydraulic fan will not spin and vehicle over heats, we replaced the module at the fan assembly but to no avail.
any advice????

I am caught in a dilemma. I am buying a Jeep Cherokee soon. I am in love with a 2001 Limited, but it is out of my price range. There is a 2000 Sport with less mileage but the color is awful. Are there any drawbacks to painting the whole thing (bumpers and door guards) to look like a classic or limited?

Just got my 2003 Grand Cherokee back from the shop. I took it in because I noticed when I went to get gas that there was no metal flap to protect the tank from debris. I opened the "door" on the side of my Jeep, removed the gas cap, & in all of my other vehicals there was a metal slidding flap that moved once the gas nossel was inserted. It wasn't there on my Jeep. The shop said that my Jeep just doesn't come with one. Is this true? Is it safe without one? Won't debris get into the tank? Sorry if this is confusing, but thanks for the help.
