I live in New England and we got hit by a storm and it says it has automatic four wheel drive but it doesn't seem that way. The car is all over the place! Does anyone else have this problem and if something could be wrong what could it be?

4 wheel drive doesn't mean it can go anywhere, If you dont have good tires and sometimes its just too much snow, but have someone watch as you floor it and see if at least one front and one rear tire are spinning, works best if you have one person on each side of the car. Have fun I live in CNY and its still snowing 30" so far since last night! I LOVE IT!

The 4 wheel drive system in your jeep is full time 4WD, so when a rear wheel slips power is transfered to the front axle. What you are noticing is the power transfer from the rear axle to the front axle. In order to avoid the sliding all over the place do not apply so much pressure to the accelerator and the 4WD system will work more smoothly for you.

I had the same problem with my jeep until I got used to the way it handled and now I love my jeep more and more each time I drive it in snow.

i agree w/ what the guys in here already suggested to drive slowly and eas up on the gas, your system is fully engaged all the time, the only recommendation i have is get some snow tires they are better design to handle slick ice or snow.check out this web site.the tires that came w/ your jeep are not the greatest in snow.so an upgrade will help.

You have to drive sensibly. Just because you have four wheel drive doesn't mean you can drive like there is no snow on the road. Slow down and be careful. Four wheel drive will help you go, but it doesn't do anything to help you stop.
