code 32- An open or shorted condition detected in the EGR solenoid circuit. Possible air/fuel ratio imbalance not detected during diagnosis. (Haynes manual)

code 55- After the stored codes have been indicated(or everything in the self diagnosis system is functioning properly), the CHECK ENGINE light will flash a Code 55. (Haynes manual)

code 55 means it is the end of self diagnosis testing or everything is ok if no other codes flash.

First I would check all vacuum hoses that are associated with the EGR system making sure no cracks are present or holes. Second, try disconnecting EGR control valve solenoid and use a voltmeter making sure it is recieving a signal from the battery with the switch in the "ON" position. No battery voltage present check fuses and wiring.

Other test can be done to the EGR system to possibly find your problem causing the trouble code. If you are slightly mechanically inclined my opinion is invest in a service manual. They are about $15-$20 and worth their weight in gold to me. Have saved thousands of dollars.

I have a book that tells the codes, but I don't know where it is.

If I can find it, I'll come back and give you the answer.
