I Have a 1992 Jeep Wrangler with stick. Went to drive it today and it wont shift. When i put the clutch in it wants to drive like the clutch isnt properly engaging. Would this be a clutch issue or a transmission issue?

Yes my jeep can easily switch through gears when the engine is turned off. My jeep is a 4 cyl. engine with 5 speeds. Thanks for helping me so far, and let me know what you think! much appreciated!

The clutch dis engages the engine from the transmission when pushed in. It can be very difficult to shift without using the clutch (ill advised too) when the motor is running. How does it shift with the engine off? Do you have a 4 cyl jeep or the 6 banger? My 95 YJ has the ax-5 transmission and 4 cyl yj's either came with the ax-5, or the peugot transmission. Both of these transmissions are weak and prone to failure. My transmission is stuck in fifth, due to broken synchronizers. This will be the second time that I've been in the trans. since I bought it in 04. The inline six motors came with the ax-15, which is a better transmission and usually does not have the problems of the ones with the 4 cyl motors. If the problem is your trans and not your clutch as I suspect you're talking around a grand to get it fixed. If you anticipate keeping your piece of american iron longer consider more expensive upgrade options.

your jeep is new enough that you should check the clutch fluid reservoir. It should be on the drivers side firewall somewhat close to the master clylinder. The tank will not be very big. If it isn't full then you need to fill it. If it isn't full you could also have a cracked line or something to make the fluid go out. Let me know

You can either take it to a mechanic, or take it to a transmission shop. they may be able to help you out.
