when i start my Jeep the oil pressure is a little lower than normal, as it warms the pressure drops, eventually to zero and the check guages light comes on. When I accelerate the check guages light shuts off and the pressure rises slightly, only a little bit! I have plenty of oil, and I had it changed 3000 miles ago. What is my Jeeps problem?

I could be the sending unit, or it could be a real pressure issue. This could be caused by a bad pump, or warn bearing etc. I would start by getting the oil pressure checked using a gauge to determine exactly what it is. I would do this soon.

if you can check oil pressure with a gauge would be great . if not change the sending unit which is about 20-30 bucks ,then again oil should be changed every 3000 miles. if it dose not help then you will have to go the oyher direction of looking at the oil pump

regrettably, your engine is on the precise of its lifestyles. For that variety 365 days, and some surrounding it, Chrysler tried to apply softer resources in the camshaft (which drives the oil pump). regrettably, they found that to be a nasty theory even as the cam gears stripped and oil pumps stopped operating. yet another ingredient I easily have talked about with those is that the top cracks and coolant receives in with the oil (also no longer sturdy). I hate to assert it, because i'm a large Jeep fan (noticeably the 4.0L) yet yours is about to face expensive upkeep.

either your crank bearings are worn(usally due to high milage) or your oil sensor sending unit is bad!
