I am caught in a dilemma. I am buying a Jeep Cherokee soon. I am in love with a 2001 Limited, but it is out of my price range. There is a 2000 Sport with less mileage but the color is awful. Are there any drawbacks to painting the whole thing (bumpers and door guards) to look like a classic or limited?

Paint the whole jeep pink with purple polka dots, lol. J/K :)
Yeah, anything can be painted if money is available and you get the right person or people so the material is worked and primed right and then the right choice of paint is chosen so it sticks properly.

I like to goto those "You Pull it" places. I got a bumper for my cherokee for 15 bucks. Just make sure you take a couple cans of PB Blaster. Works great at getting stubborn bolts off.

Any decent body shop would be able to do what you need done. I would suggest you not try this as a 'do it yourself' project because of the prep work that needs to be done. Done right the paint will last forever.

Consider powder coating. Comes in a really wide variety of finishes and colors and is extremely durable

you could do it, but i don't really recommend u that because on the Laredo trim, the bottom part is made out of Plastic, it will not shine, and look the same as the body (made out of metal), i really don't recommend u to do it, unless u can find somebody who can match both (bottom and body)... good luck...

The only drawback is cost. Any good body shop can do this.

you can paint anything you want, but , if it is plastic or fiberglass you need a special kind of paint! I think it is more expensive!
