I am in desperate need of getting my jeep started. this is the rundown, I put on new plugs, wires, dist cap and rotar button, pickup coil sensor (same as camshaft sensor), and crankshaft sensor after I did the I did the key on off thing, 3 times, and found i had a code 11, which is a camshaft/crankshaft sensor problem. After I put the new sensors in the codes showed no problems, however still wont start, turns over, and tries to run but then dies. Checked fuses, have gas to the injectors, dont know how much pressure tho. Havent changed fuel filter yet, but dont think that is prob. How could all go bad at once? Havent put diagnostic computer on it yet as am trying to save money to do it myself. called many mechanics and have done all they said to do, including trying to clear the antitheft device thing, by locking and unlocking the passenger door with the key. Ii am getting fire to the plugs but possibly not enuff gas. Also added new gas and drygas additive, PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

i have a 98 jeep wrangler. i drove it saturday night, but sunday morning it would not start. the dome light goes on when the door is open, but it shuts off when trying to start and then fades back on when the key is disengaged. the engine makes one single electrical pop sound when you try to start it. that's it, no trying to turn over. i put a charger on my battery overnight, but the same results when trying start it. my car stereo was stolen a few weeks ago and the wires are haning loose in the dash. i don't know anything about electrical problems. do you think it is the battery or something else?

Having just got this jeep a 2006, I've been told not to pay any attention to the little knocking sounds between gears. This was normal. I still question this but what about the clutch? Even at idle, if I push in the clutch and then release it, I hear this faint "knock" sound. This too I question. What is this? Should I be concerned? Are all these sounds normal for a jeep? Even new ones?

I have taken the vehicle to the main dealers to try and put the vehicle back to standard they are unable to proceed with imobilizer problem till the wiring is repaired is there any where i can get wiring diagrams to see what else has been damaged or missing before I buy a loom a fob and did the looms change much between models give or take a year either side of mine it has a bosche fly by wire pump and a vm engine and does any one have any spares for sale

I'm having problems with the turn signals on my Jeep. The left signal works fine. The right signal stays on steadily (does not blink on the dash or the turn signals themselves).
At night when I have the lights on, my brake lights remain on despite the fact that my foot is off the brake. When I step on the brake, all of my console lights brighten. Hmmmmmm....
Here is what I have done:
1) I replaced the fuses for the turn signals.
2) I replaced two thermal flashers (one for the turn signals and one for the hazard lights).
3) Replaced all the bulbs as this system works on a circuit, therefore if one bulb goes, everything goes... like a set of those old Christmas tree lights.
4) Checked all of the grounds. Everything is grounded properly and tightly.
5) I have a Relay that I have yet to replace. Hoping this is the problem... any ideas
Oh yeah, the right side marker light is out even though I just replaced the bulb... bad connection causing all of this?

I replaced water pump, radiator, new hoses, thermostat housing with thermostat and 50/50 mix of antifreeze, burped the air from the system, replaced radiator cap also, the car is getting 190 degrees without a/c, 96F with that stable temperature, as soon as i turn the A/C On, the car starts to surge forward and engine feels like it wants to stall, also the quality of cool air has been decreased significantly on warm weather, my decision was to replace the A/C compressor, could be a bad compressor cycling off and on (not low on freon actually) to overheat the engine?

at around 56,57 mph the front end starts to vibrate so bad it feels like the wheel is going to run off.my mechanic checked it and said everything is tight under the front end.I trust him been doing business with him along time if I can't do the work myself then he does it.Anybody have any ideas as what is causing it.

The jeep is runing okay , but excessive black smoke comes out the tailpipe. Its in the shop now and they keep checking everthing they can and they think they found the problem and let it run for a while and its okay. turn off the jeep and start it back up in a few minutes and there the black smoke is again and again.

So I'm planning on picking up a 2001 Jeep Cherokee with 80k miles, and I'm a bit concerned with reliability. I've researched and it's either love or hate this thing.

I love the design, not having all these stupid gadgets and something I can use for my daily commute(70mi +/day).

My question for you Cherokee owners, is this reliable? Can I use this car without too much hassle other than basic maintanence and such? Please any buying advice? Thanks!

on my jeep, there are three spots just above the cigar lighter where fog lights, locker swithes and what not can go. i pulled mine off on the was wires and a plug in to the back of the right slot. i dont have any switches here. what the heck are the wires for?

i've already asked this question. but i didnt get any answers. so let me try this again. anyone have a 1996 jeep grand cheorkee laredo? are they good dependable suvs? i'm turning 15 next month and i'm getting a car next summer and i wanted a beetle but then i changed my mind and have decided on a 96,97, or 98 jeep grand cherokee laredo or a 94 explorer or a durango. so are these good suvs? would like to have opinions by owners please. thanks!
