Pros: Owning a vehicle that is like no others and has capability off road that is unsurpassed. Plenty of customization options available. A tried and true design (basic styling hasn't changed in over 50 years). A Wrangler does turn heads! Chicks Dig Em. Interior is easily cleaned (carpet can be removed and hosed out). repair parts are easy to find and rather inexpensive. Not alot of electrical components so repairs are cheaper. Wranglers hold their value VERY well. Low end power- Lots! The SWB CJ's were known for rolling over- the YJ and the TJ are alot more stable. Jeep owners are very friendly and helpful to each other- almost a way of life- no other manufacturer has that kind of brand loyalty.
Cons: Fuel economy. High resale value- if looking for used. high maintenance- you have to take care of it or you WILL have problems. anemic 4speed automatic trans- get the manual trans. if possible. Standard warranty is no better than any other manufacturer- 3yrs. 36000 miles. Seats aren't the most comfortable. No one will ever accuse a Wrangler of riding like a Cadillac.

OK, lets start at the beginning, you like the Wrangler. Now then, yes the smaller engine will get better fuel economy. What do you plan on doing exactly with this rig? Any 4 wheeling? A Wrangler is a Utility vehicle, meaning it's a lot more capable then a car. You will be able to tow small trailers with a dirt bike or 2, but not much over 2,000 pounds. And 4 wheel drive is always a good thing in my book (just remember it will still get stuck). As far as cargo room, well you know about that. My youngest daughter thought real hard about what she wanted to do and ended up in a crew cab Tacoma because she didn't want to need a trailer for hauling anything. So weigh this when making your decision. As a bonus, there are many Jeep clubs. One is even factory sponsored with trail rides and class's for getting the most out of a Wrangler. Take someone who is mechanical with you or take the vehicle your looking at buying to a trusted Mech. Good Luck!

The wrangler is a very capable off-road vehicle with none to very litle modification. If you are in an area that a vehicle with capabilities that the wrangler has will be used go for it. if oyu are looking for an urban commuter only get a honda civic
