I've always had good luck with Jeeps. My 1990 Comanche Eliminator was the longest lasting of them all. It had 176,400 miles on it when it finally died. The computer and the rear main seal went out at the same time. I still had the original clutch in it too!

I have had several Jeeps over the years and had very little problems with any of them. 88 Wrangler, 91 Cherokee, 1998 Grand Cherokeee. Right now I drive a 1973 CJ5 with almost 240000 miles on the original engine/transmission/transfer case. It runs like a top and looks just as good as it runs.

i currently have a '96 cherokee, runs pretty well, i had to replace the starter in the fall tho...had an 87 cherokee a few years ago also, that also ran very well, except for one thing that went wrong..........cant think of what it was, my gf called it a "hiccup". whatever the piece was, it was on the right side of the engine compartment(looking at the engine from the front) in the back corner, some sort of plug or something...also a cv joint went out of that car........other than that im really happy with the way both jeeps ran

the 87 pulled an F250 diesel out of 2 1/2 ft of snow on xmas day one year!!! :) :) :)

im looking at a 1995 wrangler tomorrow....5 sp, 84k miles, soft top, looks to me like its in very good condition from photos, only selling it for $3,000. this sound a little low to anyone??

I've got a '91 YJ and an '88 YJ, I run them pretty hard with rock crawling and whatnot.. they both hold up very well. I do get the occasional rear main oil seal leak on both though. The rest of the wear and tear I deserve for all I put 'em through

I have a 81 CJ5 that runs like a dream. Just good maintenance and loving care and your jeep will last a long time.

I had a 1998 Cherokee with a 4 litre engine. That engine was a great motor that I had no problems with. When I was looking for one I almost bought a 1984 which had 280,000 kms on it and never had the motor done and still didn't go through oil.
