My mom has an 02 jeep grand cherokee limited and about once a week the check engine lite comes on and once you shut it off it doesn't start or anything. the headlites are bright all electrical works but it won't turnover. We have taken it to the dealer they replaced the battery cables and said nothing was wrong. The next week still having problems. We have to disconnect the battery for about a half hour sometimes before it will start. I did the turn key 3 times to do the OBD it put out a code p4033(i think thats right). Next day try to start the car about 28degrees nothing happens tried to jump it off..nothing. try the check code..nothing.. If anyone else is having or have had this problem please let me know cause the dealer cant fix it and it sucks!

verify that code and give it to the dealer so they have something to investigate. Sometimes the central processor will have intermittent failures that the dealer has a hard time finding. Still it is new enough it should store the problems in memory if you don't disconnect the battery.

I could be the starter or starter relay is to blame but it needs to be at the dealer or a reputable shop so they can analyze it when the problem exists.

I have an 01 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. It depends on how much it is driven. I know that mine has to be run at least once a week so that nothing goes wrong with it. If it sits out in the cold, it takes longer for the engine to get warmed up. Take it to a Jeep Doctor. (A Jeep Dealership), only because Jeep's, depending on models, have certain parts that you can only get there, and not at other dealerships.
