I'm 21 and looking to replace my '99 Mustang (V6). I'm looking for a fun to drive car that gets better gas mileage than 16 mpg. I want the car to be no smaller than the mustang I drive now (bigger would be nice) and also no older then my car. I'm looking for a used car around the $15,000 mark. It MUST be a fun car to drive though. I would LOVE a WRX but unfortunately they're nearly impossible to find used.

Bett then 16 MPG
Size equal to or greater than 1999 Mustang
Newer than 1999
Around $15,000

I traded in a car and bought a new truck from a local car dealer. I bought the truck on Nov. 10 and the car I traded in has not been paid off as of today December 24 and they have sold my old car. The trade in was financed and they keep calling me for payment since the dealer has not paid it off. I have called the dealer and spoke to the manager and their accountants, they both say this is normal. I have bought other vehicles and this has never happened before. At this point, I just want to turn the truck in back to the dealer and walk away with a lesson learned. What are my options?

Im kind of concerned that it may not last because it has a rather high mileage. I would be buying it from a dealer and trading in my 02 Cavalier with 80,000 miles to put towards it. I have seen the carfax report on this Civic, there has only been 1 owner of the vehichle and it has no major issues (according to the carfax report).

But I dont know if I should be doing this. I really want the Civic. It looks really nice--it was obviously taken well care of by the previous and only owner. So, for 6400 is this a deal? Im worried that if I do buy it the timing belt could go at any time--I have no way of telling if it has baan changed before. I also dont know a whole lot about cars anyways, so I really am in need of some fruitful advice. Everyone tells me that it isnt unusual for a Civic to last up to 250,000 miles without major problems. I

I need real, professional, and non-biased advice, please!.

My mom had a eclipse which she owed 3k more than Kelley Blue Book suggested worth. Anxious to get out from under the car debt, she went to a Nissan dealership yesterday and traded in her eclipse. The purchase has left her in far more of a finanical hardship than she started with. She was very vulnerable and made a terrible mistake...does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this dilemma. I plan to go with her to the dealership tomorrow and beg for them to take it back....but what if they say NO or demand that we pay a high fee?? Thanks

a month ago i traded vehicles. the guy calls me 2 weeks later and says he wants to trade back. i say no then he says ill be hearing from his lawyer. i think hes bulls*itin me then a week later i get a call from a town cop that takes my info. a week after that i get a letter from the attorney saying i have 10 days to answer the letter or they will persue legal action. so i call and she says that i made a contract with a minor that was 17 years old and that void the contract and i have to trade back. but when the titles were transferred his father signed the titles over so the title transfers were done by adults and in front of a notary. so i get a lawyer and he suggests that we trade back also that i can win but it will cost more to fight it than the car is worth. the guy is 4 hours away and i drove the car down and brought them back costing me roughly 500 dollars. the thing is how can this idiot do anything. i dont really want to trade back but cant afford the lawyer fees. what canido

The owner does not want to buy tire before selling it. Some people told me not to buy car without back-up tire. But why? Does the absence of backup tire mean something?

I am currently 19 years old, but when I a, 20 years old I will be purchasing my very first vehicle some most likely in September of 2008. I am planning on having around $ 13,500 with the $ 13,000.00 being for the vehicle and the $ 500.00 being for tax, title, license, registration, and any other related fees. I actually plan on and have my heart set on a 2003 or 2004 Toyota Sequoia SR5 suv. I have seen a few locally and in surrounding cities for like around $ $ 14,800.00, $ 15,700.00, and $ 16,280.00. By the time September comes or whatever I should have around $ 13,500.00 or even $ 14,00.00 cash saved up. I will be 20 years old in March. So the day I go to the dealership what will happen? When would I sign papers? What all would I sign? Since it will be mine, could all things be in my name only. When will I get my license plate? Also, when would I be required to get inspection sticker and vehicle insurance? Thanks and please let me know.

I am taking the keys from my mom and getting her a chauffer! So, I want to sell my mom's car (well actually a minivan) but it has some dings on the bumper and other minor body issues. The prevailing logic for selling a house is to fix its problems before you sell because buyers overestimate how much the problem is worth. Does the same bode true with the van? In other words would it be easier to sell the van if I invested 1000 into fixing it then selling it for 1000 more or knocking 1000 off the price so the buyer can decide if he/she wants to fix it or use it as/is?

I bought a beautiful 2007 Toyota Avalon about 11 months ago when I was able to aford it even though the bank gave me an 8.5% APR for six years. Upfront when I got it I added insurance from the dealer so that the car wouldn't give me problems in the future ( I didn't know the car had warranty from the manyfacturer for the first 45,000mi), thus I'm paying more than what the car is worth. Today, I am going through financial harpship and I can't keep up with the monthly payments. I still owed about $30,000. I want to know if i can still turn in the car to the dealer who sold it to me because it hasn't been a year yet, and get rid of the car? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated in advance, Thanks.

this is in England.

At the moment he as a renault grand scenic. He wants to get the same again when his company car is up for renewal in a few months, as it has LOADS of space (he's manager of two offices so is often carrying 5+ boxes of files around). He also cannot live without the little keycard key. The one that's like a credit card and you can carry it in your pocket the whole time, and you lock the car by pressing the button on the outside of the drivers door? He also can't live without his folding wingmirrors.

So my question: What other cars (need to be as large as the grand scenic) have the keycard ignition and folding wingmirrors? And which is the best of those in your opinion?

They need to be in the price range of an 07 grand scenic, so about £13000, less if possible.

Or should he just stick to the grand scenic? Just seems a bit daft having a people carrier for a 52 year old man with 2 children who both drive and have cars.

When I first got my license, I'd rent a car once a month on a special $9.99/day weekend deal from Enterprise, which is not much money-very cheap. I did that to keep up & continuing to practice driving. Many people were like, "YOU BETTER STOP RENTIN' DEM CARS! OK, KEEP ON RENTIN' DEM CARS, YA HEAR?!"

Lets say a car costs $5,000 and the dealer is going to finance a car loan for you with an interest rate of 24%. If you pay the monthly car note every month for 60 months, you will have paid about $8,000 which means $3,000 of that is interest. Lets say your monthly note is $130 but some months you pay $500......will that lower the amount of interest you pay in the end? I guess to sum it all up I am asking: If you pay your car loan off quicker than the 60 months, will the interest be less?
