Buying & Selling - December 2007

I am new at selling used cars, and I'm still figuring out how to appraise it. Right now, I'm basing it at how they sell it, but some vehicle is not on the used car lot.

I'm in the Iloilo Philippines, but answers from anywhere else are welcome, it might give me some ideas.

I just bought my dream car two weeks ago I sign the papers and the sales guy told me I will be finance but after the 2 weeks i got a call telling me to return the car because i couldn't get finance but what its worst is that i had a trade in and i was still making payments on and because of the waiting period now im late and makes my credit bad too!! What really upsets me is the in their commercials they say they will help any one but i guess they don't!! I want to hirer a lawyer i think i have a care for miss leading!! any opinions Pls ..

if u buy a car at the dealer ship and the dealer tells u the bank apporveds the loans and later on the banks says that they did not approve the first terms of your loan and the dealer works something out with the banks on terms u do not know about and the dealer tells u to write a check for the cars tags and taxes for $2,000 and u signed the contract but the dealer lied about u getting the loan through the bank and the bank sends u a letter a couple days later with different terms than what u and the dealership talked about can they still hold u to the signed contract and all they have is the check the bank have not payed them for the car are u liable for the new car u returned to them?

A few months ago I bought my civic because I'd been wanting it forever. Unfortunately, the interior has proven to be really cheap and I'm afraid to let a lot of people or my dogs ride in it for fear of getting it scratched. I also, after having driven it for a few months, find the front seat very uncomfortable. This weekend I almost traded it in for the Jeep thinking that an SUV was the way to go in order to combat the dog problem. I'm just so distrusting of American cars. I looked briefly at the CRV and RAV4 but fear I won't be able to afford them. I also worry that they'll scratch just as easily. Will a Jeep Liberty run as long as and as well as my civic? How much should I expect to talk down the dealers? (At Honda they don't budge much on new cars...I don't know how Jeep works.) Any advice on the matter would be great!

I have an 88 Nissan stanza that runs good but i've been looking at some newer models of cars. Found a few that were anywhere from $5,000-8,000. i work two jobs and live at my aunt's house while i am in college. She doesnt make me pay rent or anything, so I'm able to save up money. About how much would the monthly payments be? Should i wait? I feel like if i don't buy a newer car that will probably last longer now, I will not get the chance when i am on my own and have to pay rent and all other kinds of bills. any suggestions?? I have a jetta right now and its great but their is only so much room and I want something that would be easier to get her in and out of in the back and gets good gas mileage. A mini van would be to big and we just do not need that room. I am ok with any kind of station wagon though. And as far as price I am willing to spend I would say no more then 10K. Thanks!

i live in california and i was wondering whats a good car to drive in highschool i was thinking about driving a motorcycle but iv been told its better to be able to have a few passengers and that no girl would ride on the back of one (something about their parents) what do you think?

I'm after a specific car but the only ones I can find that are within my budget tend to be on ebay, and far away from where I live.
As such, viewing them would probably mean at least a 400 mile round trip, then the same again if I won.
Would you just take a chance if the photo's looked ok, description states cars is good, seller had lots of positive feedback, and the value was, say, £5000, and bid without viewing?

I found this gem online. A 2006 Mercedes Benz CLS500 with 21000miles for over $20000 off Kelly Blue Book. I already talked to an employee of the Salvage Yard. They said the car has a clean title and has no noticable damage (other than a small scratch on the rear fender). It runs and drives and looks stellar. can any of you car experts out there give me a recommendation on what car I should get? Looking to buy a sporty car with great performance. I have up to 8 or $9000 to spend so it would need to be used. heres the criteria I would like to meet:

Manual transmission
V6 or V8
300 hp or higher
3.0 engine or higher
preferably coupe or hatchback (not as important)
RWD

(turbo would be a bonus)

I bought a car at an auction, i will get the pink slip (according to them) within one month. do i need to wait for the pink slip? if i can sell it without the pink slip, what forms do i need to fill out? i live in california so the information should be for that state. i know i need to go to CA DMV website, but there is too much information, a quick and short answer will be appreciated..thanks

Im just getting my licence, and there is a Chevy Blazer for sale with 130K miles, selling for $2,400. That is the only thing I dont like about it. Everything else is in excellent condition. Interior and exterior are excellent. I know im going to put some money into it. There is a small oil leak, and the shifter has a over tight cable. But is 130K miles too much for a Blazer?

Bought a used car for over 10K from a Subaru dealership. When it rains, the back seats get wet, big mystery how (no sun roof). My question though is does the dealer have to fix this, or is it my car now? I had the car for maybe 2-3 weeks before we noticed the water and complained to the dealer. Thanks.

I am now back to work and getting ready to catch the car payment up on Monday and they repossessed it this morning. Someone told me that if I pay the past due amount, late fees, and all fees associated with the repossession, usually the car company will let you have it back. does anybody know this for sure or do you have advice? thanks!

I have my eye a new vehicle. The dealer already is telling me the incentives total $3800 for a 2007 model car. Will it be a waste of time to deal further with the car or do you think I can go below that? I know they need to move them off the lot for next model year. Any Thoughts?

I just found out that the kilometers of my 2004 honda civic has been changed. He sold the car with 28,500km but in the ministry car report, it states that the car was sold with 282,000km. What legal actions can be taken... I need some advice, becuase i'm really pissed about this.

does anyone know of a powerful diesel car that can be purcheced for under £10-15k/$30k that isnt a bmw? reason is i need to get it preped (electrics... gps, scanners, laser jammers etc) for road rally nxt yr. i have a car now that i can run rally in but am sick of waiting in fuel station MASS ques for petrol, and intend to buy a diesel because few use diesel cars... :) tnx 4 ur help lol :)

Im going to look for a car tomorrow within the price of 10-20k but i dont know anyone to check it out for me mechanically wise so i was wondering if i test drove it and it was ok and the car came with warranty, will this be enough to buy it?

For a 2005 Tacoma with a five-foot bed. Found one with carpet lining that looks like it's the top-of-the-line. Dealer says it retails for $2600 but I can have this one for $1400. He says it is a good deal... but for me, it is a lot of money. I have spent hours on eBay and Google trying to figure out the ball-park range for these things. Is $1400 reasonable??? We are hauling a dog on a 1400 mile round trip.
