I am looking to buy a new truck, I see that I can save a lot of money by not getting the 4x4 option...but do not know if I will hinder more than help. Is it worth the extra bucks for the 4x4? Most of the time it would be used for commuting, towing a car trailer, or even firewood. Most of the time the roads here is MD are dry, and we only get snow a few times a year. I have 4x4 in an expedition, but only used it when I wanted to put myself in a situation when I needed it. What is your advice?

I purchased a new (used) vehicle from a dealership last Friday, I signed the papers, insured and registered the vehicle then yesterday I got a call from the dealership saying I needed to bring the vehicle back because they had not received funding yet. Is this right? Legal? Isn’t the funding suppose to be approved prior to me signing the papers, picking up the car, etc? Do I have to return the vehicle?

While I have read through many of the pro and con questions I have a more specific question about the mileage penalty. How big is the penalty? I drive a lot for work, estimating about 28,000 - 30,000 miles per year. How bad would the mileage penalty be for me if I leased a car rather than bought a car? Would it still be worth chosing to lease rather than buy?

So I signed all the paperwork that Saturday. They said that I have 2.9% APR for financing through Nissan, blah blah blah. So I was REALLY happy with that. A week later, I went back to cancel my extended warranty and the finance director casually says, "Oh, by the way, we weren't able to get your financing approved." A WEEK LATER. I had already signed the purchasing documents. I thought it was signed, sealed, delivered - binding and FINAL. So then they say, "But we did get you approved for a lesser loan amount - you just have to find a different car. And the interest rate is higher than 2.9%." WHAT?!!?? I tried to get financing through my credit union, but the interest rate is way higher! I talked to another gentleman at another dealership who's been in the business for a while, and he said that it's called an "On-Spot Delivery" and it's an illegal practice. Does ANYONE know anything about this? Is this NORMAL??

My dad wants to buy a new car (the one we have now is crap) and my uncle suggested going to a police auction, because according to him they have nice cars for a low price. Has anybody bought a car from there, and if so what kind shape was it in, and how new?

Thanks for helping.

About a month and a half ago I purchased a 2005 Accord Hybrid from a dealer. He pulled up the carfax report and it looked clear. I however didn't care for the car and tried to trade it in today...The owner confronts me to let me know that the carfax report that he pulled on the car shows that last year it had been in a severe front on collision, airbags were deployed, and damage to the frame were noted. The dealer did not disclose this information to me at sale. What are my options? (I live in Ohio) Is sueing the only option, how long would that take and would it be worth it? I owe 17,000 on a car that is not even worth 4,000 now. Anyone have any experience with something like this? Whats my best course of action?

Thanks!

I need a car, but have no money. My only choice is to buy used, economy. I'm searching the net for Chevy Cavaliers, Ford Focus, etc. etc. What would be a good economical used car? It has to be less than $2,000. I realize this isn't ideal, but you have to do what you have to do. Can you recommend anything other than eBay Motors for this car search? Thanks in advance.

We went to a dealership and met with the sales manager, we made the deal and were to come back the following morning sign the papers. We had agreed on the price the trade in was done and the finance was already approved. When we went back to sign the paperwork and pick up the truck, the owner has informed us that the sales manager has left (with no warning - was not fired) and that there is no paperwork on the deal. Meanwhile the sales agent that came in at the end of the deal to handle the paperwork and transaction, all of a sudden does not remember all the aspects of the deal and no one can find any paperwork? Do we have a leg to stand on? Help

My husband and I were looking for a decent economical 4 cylinder pickup to run around in and we found one from our local used car dealer. We used a privately obtained loan as this was a cash dealer, he does not do financing. It has been 5 weeks, he has had to reissue a sales contract so we could get our second set of temp tags. If we are unable to get a title by the middle of next month, are we justified in asking for a refund of our purchase price as well as any interest we have paid? Is this a common occurence? This dealer has been in business for over 40 years and this is a small town. He bought the truck from a dealers auction in another town and state. Thanks for any assistance!

so basically i ONLY bought this car because i was told i would get 40mpg - i only get 28 - not happy. i went back to the dealership and they kept screwing around with me passing me from salesman to salesman - finally i got one who would help me and now they are telling me they will only trade me $2000 less that what i paid for it and it is my fault it took too long to come back - i have plenty of stuff in writing - different excuses why our appointment dates would no longer work and such- i do not want this car now that i found out it does not get 40mpg. the originaly salesman no longer works for the company and apperently if he did, he would have been able to give me more trade in-shouldn't his company have to support what he did wrong when he was working for them?! SO not happy! they tell me - well i am sure he didn't mean to misinform you - well he probably didn't, but i am getting the raw end! any advice appreciated! thanks for reading my vent!
