I am trying to check the history of a set of used cars to purchase one from. Should I use Carfax, or should I use Experian Autocheck?

Any input appreciated!

Thanks

I am employed at a New car Dealer.
I have used both Carfax & Autocheck
I have found errors with both but this is a rarity.

I actually prefer Autocheck because the report is easier to read, (better layout) & provides a little more information than Carfax.
Autocheck is a little cheaper, so I find it has more value for the money.
Sometimes Autocheck even gives the city & police report # if an accident was ever reported.

There is another site that offers a similar paid service, however I have no experience with it.
http://www.vin-check.net/
it appears to be priced about the same as Autocheck

NOTE:
These companies offer valuable information, but basically they just collect various data that has been reported. They should not be THE ONLY deciding factor for your buying decision. Before making a final decision, PLEASE have the vehicle physically inspected by a qualified source.
I hope this helps.

To check a car's VIN, I would recommend using Carfax.

Anyone other than CARFAX because there is a class action suit against them because it turns out that CARFAX doesn't receive accident reports from every state, but the company's Web site is a little coy about disclosing that fact.
