I am looking to buy a new truck, I see that I can save a lot of money by not getting the 4x4 option...but do not know if I will hinder more than help. Is it worth the extra bucks for the 4x4? Most of the time it would be used for commuting, towing a car trailer, or even firewood. Most of the time the roads here is MD are dry, and we only get snow a few times a year. I have 4x4 in an expedition, but only used it when I wanted to put myself in a situation when I needed it. What is your advice?

Go with the 2 wheel drive version! You already have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for the times that there is some snow. Unless you live west of Cumberland, there is not enough snow in MD to make the cost and loss of gas mileage worthwhile!
Save the money and buy the two wheel drive!
If you can buy the truck this weekend to avoid the sales tax increase that goes into effect next month!

spring for the 4x4.
your resale will be better and it will be more useful all around
I cant believe all the people answering against 4x4...
I live in Wisconsin and the luxury of 4 wheel drive is almost a must!
There are very very very few 2 wheel drive trucks on the dealers lots here and that is becasue no one wants them here. We got 3 inches of snow yesterday and it is so easy to get hung up in some ruts.
Your MPG isnt a heck of alot better in comparison because you can turn the 4 wheel off and the engine doesnt work any harder than a 2 wheel drive truck then.
I think you will regret buying the 2x4........... Dont listen to the sissies that say save a buck, its not worth it.

If it was me, I would get the 4x4. Its true that a person that doesn't go off road alot rarely uses it, mainly for weather, but they are a stronger suspension, and the time when you sell it, the resale value on a 4x4 is much higher than a 4x2. Its also alot more easy to sell a 4x4 because thats what most people want. Another reason is, heaven forbid, but in the case of you going in a ditch you could get out, or what I always enjoy doing is pulling others out when they get stuck.
Final thought.....
Get the 4x4.
Better resale, the security of knowing you can help yourself in a jam, and a little more meat on the bones. Another suggestion unless your diehard sold on a brand spanken new one, go for one thats 1 year old used. You can find them everywhere at super low mileage, most still in their factory warranty and you wont lose on the depreciation, and you will pay alot less, maybe less than a new 4x2 and still the truck is new just slightly used.

unless you are going off road stick to the two wheel drive truck. the comfort level can be close if it has ifs but if it has a solid front axle it will ride a bit rough. gas mileage sucks in a 4x4

From what you have stated, I would just go with a 4X2. If you are not driving in snow or going off road a lot, it's just not worth it.
With gas prices as they are, you don't want to pay more than necessary while you commute. Most 4X2's have a tow option available (I've got the option) and you can still use your expedition win you want to play in the snow or dirt.

As we all know that the price of used 4x4 trucks for sale is low than the new used 4x4 trucks, this is the major reason for the great in demand. You can also visit: http://tiny.cc/FL-Trucks-financing

4X4 is AWD, better stability and traction in bad weather.
4X2 is FWD, better fuel economy.
