Let me see if I have the facts correct here. You bought a car. The dealer financed the car for you. You promised to make the payments.

The car developed some problems and you decided not to keep your word, and did not pay what you owed! You bought the car, and unless you had a warranty for the specific problems, it was your responsibility to pay for the repairs! If you were not going to pay for the car, you should have returned it to the dealer 5 years ago.

You now want the dealer to take his time to come get the car and pay to transport it back to the dealership! You do not say what type of car it is, but I would bet the dealer is looking at the cost of getting the car back vs the value of the car today!

You need to take the car back to the dealership! You were the one who did not pay your bills! You were the one who took the car out of state. You are the one that has in effect stolen from the dealer who financed you! You have the car, he does not have the money! You owe him, he does not owe you any favors!!!

You may try calling him and offering to settle the debt, in exchange for him giving you the title and / or lien release! I do not know what you owe, but you may be able to settle it for 40% -60% of the balance!

Do the right thing and either return the car or settle the debt!!

Sell it to a junkyard
NOT a dealership
Because if you do, it may show up as a stolen car
You don't want any of that
Either give it to a junk yard that is a dismantler
Or give it to a scrapyard, that will sell it for metal
Say you don't have the title, and you'd like to sell it for metal
They'll give you a few hundred bucks, and you don't have the title.
This gets rid of the car, you get a little bit of cash, and no penalties of somebody figuring out what is going on
It's not your fault, but the dealer may have put it down as Stolen, you don't want to go through all of that
That's just my reccomendation, if you don't need the money or the car, get it to a dismantler
Good luck!

Because you do not have the title, you are unable to sell it. Was there a loan on the vehicle? If so, call the lender as they hold the title to the vehicle and are entitled to it not the dealer that sold it to you..

Please e-mail me if you have any further questions and I will be glad to help you. Good luck!
