We went to a dealership and met with the sales manager, we made the deal and were to come back the following morning sign the papers. We had agreed on the price the trade in was done and the finance was already approved. When we went back to sign the paperwork and pick up the truck, the owner has informed us that the sales manager has left (with no warning - was not fired) and that there is no paperwork on the deal. Meanwhile the sales agent that came in at the end of the deal to handle the paperwork and transaction, all of a sudden does not remember all the aspects of the deal and no one can find any paperwork? Do we have a leg to stand on? Help

Technically, no...if there is no paperwork, there is not much you can do in this instance. To them, you are just some person saying something that they cannot verify.

Just demand the prior deal in writing or say you will take your business elsewhere. There are thousands of car/truck dealerships that want your business and have the right vehicle for you.

Until you sign the papers nothing is legal. If you still want the truck just be sure you get the exact same deal or walk away. They might be trying to scam you.

Only if you can prove the terms you remember,
and you can't.
Go to another dealer. This one's scamming you.
Bet'cha a nickel that if you watched the place, you'd
spot your 'sales manager` there.
