Woops. I deleted my last one on accident but yeah

Im going to be driving soon and I would really like a ford mustang as a first car. Ive been a fan of cars and an even bigger fan of mustangs since i was 9. Im prepared for the "need experience before buying" answers, but ill probably take them lightly because of how horrible teen drivers are made out to be but I will be taking VERY good care of my car because im going to study to be an automechanic and an aftermarket tuner. If you dont reccemend this car as a first one could you include some that would be good first cars? no p.o.s. cars though please

I finish college in a semester and I'll have a degree, after that I plan to take a full year off of school until I decide if I need another degree. I make about $1,200 a month working 37 hours a week and my rent after everything is about $500. After school I want to pick up a part time job because I'll be bored without school. My question is, do you think I should just invest in a brand new car between the price of $15,000-$20,000 or should I just hope I can find a good used one. I figure a new car would last 10 years and have no problems, but would insurance or interest kill me?

I have a 2003 Jetta, and its got quite a few things going on with it-----

*cracked windshield
*bump on the side
*needs engine temperature thing (got engine light check but i just have not fixed it)

Now..... should i fork up the money BEFORE I go and try to sell/trade it in, or should I just sell it for some money less so the other person can fix it themselves?

ALSO :) another thing. I would really really love to trade it in for a used Saab at a dealership BUT would'nt I get a better deal for my car if I sold it first and then used that money to buy the Saab? Or are most dealerships pretty fair when it comes to trade-in prices?

Lots of questions... aghhhh :) .... Thanks.

I've just purchased a new car yesturday and thought that I can handle the none expected monthly cost the finance company stated for my new car note. After calculating my total expenses for the month, and include the new car note expense, I realize now that I can't afford it. Is there a way that I can return the car and forfit the loan?

Yes, I got behind unfortunately due to loss of previous job. Tried working with the bank, but you know the saying 'you can't get blood out of a turnip.'

Right now, I am playing hide-n-seek with the repo company because I do need my transportation to get to work and make sure my kids to and from school (to far for them to walk...).

I am hoping to stall this process enough to get a little money under my belt to bring my loan current but need to know how long can I go before what?....

will a sheriff show up at my door? Will they stalk me all day long? What can I expect?

Please dont be mean...I'm not a bad irresponsible person. I just need some further information so I can plan...

I am currently driving a Kia Sephia and I spun out and smashed into a snow bank today and now I'm really afraid to drive it. What is a good car (I don't want an SUV) to drive in the snow? I'm looking to buy used.

I've owned a couple of them (9-5s, bought used) and have had few if any problems with them. In fact, they have both been much more reliable than the BMWs I've owned. However, they are great buys as used cars as they loose value like crazy.

I'm trying to sell my 2002 9-5 Aero now and I can barely get $11k for it. This car originally stickered for $46k, probably sold for something like $40k, and still has a year left under the certified pre-owned warranty. Heck, it even has air-conditioned seats! Why so little interest in these cars?

I have $2,000 cash for my down payment, but I was wondering if it would be possible for me to use my credit card as a down payment. I have $2,000 credit limit. I want to use my credti card then pay it all off...Is this a good idea? I was also thinking about using my credit card then $1,000 cash making my down payment $3,000.

I applied to my credit union for a used auto loan and was approved. They then told me I had to pay sales tax on the car for the loan amount which makes no sense to me since this transaction is between two people and doesnt involve the bank anymore than that they are financing my loan and no dealership is involved to pay a sales tax. Does this make sense to anyone or is this normal for bank to make you pay sales tax on an auto loan? My friend who I'm buying the car from is being required to come to the bank with me sign some paperwork as well. None of this makes sense.

A friend of mine is currently leasing a Nissan through NMAC for $500/mo (excl. tax) on a 39mos contract. He has had the car for about 13 months (13 payments), which equals totals payments made so far about $6500 dollars. The lease matures in Feb 2010. Which to me says he has about $13000 dollars more to pay. Now here is where I got confused, when he called NMAC they told him the payoff quote was $28,000? Does that include an early termination fee or something? Because all together (all his payments )he would have paid about $20,000 to lease a $32,000 Nissan. What do you guys think? Bad deal or about right? Where did the extra 8,000 come from?

I can either get a Mazda RX-7 with 33,000 miles on it for $19,500 or a Toyota Supra that has 82,000 miles on it for $17,000. I'm probably going to have to buy the Mazda because I keep getting told that 80,000 miles on a car makes it too old. Would the RX-7 be able to achieve around 600hp when modified?
