For a 2005 Tacoma with a five-foot bed. Found one with carpet lining that looks like it's the top-of-the-line. Dealer says it retails for $2600 but I can have this one for $1400. He says it is a good deal... but for me, it is a lot of money. I have spent hours on eBay and Google trying to figure out the ball-park range for these things. Is $1400 reasonable??? We are hauling a dog on a 1400 mile round trip.

The newer the model design of a truck, the more it will cost you, get some local ADD mags, and do the research. 1400 sounds high, but the sales IS ALWAYS RITE???? good luck

Any accessories with the shell...interior lights, indoor/outdoor carpet lined, AC plugs? Also, what type of side windows and what type of rear door assembly?

3 years ago I paid $2600 for a brand new LEER custom painted with THULE rack, interior lining, AC plugs and switchable dome light. That price also included connecting the electric shell door lock to my truck lock FOB so I could keyless lock/unlock the shell with my remote. Sorry to be long winded. I figured if I gave you the whole scenario you might be able to compare.

Go to a place that sells shells. Not a dealer
