It's only import if it's coming from another country. Since NY and CA are both in the U.S. that would be "transport". lol California is a bit foreign to NY though and vice versa.

CA as in California or Canada?

If Canada check www.riv.ca

If VIN# starts with 1 or 2 or 3 there is no import duty.
If not count on 6.1% + 6% GST + $206 RIV fee
Make sure you check on site because they just changed all the rules.

Just drive it. Calculate how many miles it is, how many mpg's your car gets, times the price of fuel and you'll have the cost of driving it.
Example: car gets 28mpg, need to drive 2,500 miles, fuel costs $3.10/gl
Apx: $280 in fuel alone.
