You pay registration and pay sales tax on that purchase in every state except Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon.

That depends upon the state where you register the vehicle. Just contact your local DMV office. Generally it does not matter where you buy it but where you register it that determines the taxes and fees payable.
