Price is right. A complete diagnostic will cost some, but might make you more comfortable buying this.

I bought an RX-7 for $200 as a gamble. Turned out all right, though it could have been a mistake.

Check it as carefully as you can. Any receipts for oil changes or other maintenance? Does it idle smoothly? How about slack in the steering? Tires OK? If it's got disc brakes, you can check the thickness of the pads with no trouble. Look in the radiator- any oil there? Ditto the dipstick- any water there? These last two could indicate a bad head gasket. Look underneath for pools of oil or transmission fluid.

When you drive it, does it pull to one side? Any lag in the transmission? Find a good place to jam on the brakes and see if they pull. Does the parking brake work? How about the lights, all of 'em- turn, high/low beams, flashers, dome and dash lights? And one expensive item- the heater- does it work? Check the A/C, too.

Study hard in college and have a great Christmas!

What you're able to desire to ask your self is; what's this going to cost you interior the tip? you're observing a $2400 restore for a first rate vehicle with purely 80,000 and relativly extra moderen form. after it fairly is finished it fairly is going to in all probability be high-quality and pushed effortlessly for a whilst till you're looking extra to be incorrect. whether you offered it as is, you're able to get at maximum $2000 for the vehicle. so in case you're taking the 2400 and 2000 you have 4400 to spend on a sparkling used vehicle. A $4400 vehicle isn't the ultimate interior the international. you're wanting to purchase a older form, ninety 8 or older, with bigger mileage. as that stands, you're observing complications even faster back including your new used vehicle, and consequently going to could desire to spend extra funds fixing that, considering the fact which you will in no way purchase a used vehicle while not having to revive something. So, i might say restore the vehicle on your 2400, and be completed with funds. it fairly is the ultimate concern, not extra funds. so, reckoning on what your month-to-month cost replaced into, you're able to desire to nonetheless be saving extra funds by ability of repairing it. ask your self how plenty have you ever saved because of the fact the money have been finished, does it outweigh what the upkeep would be? purely what i think of could desire to be completed.

You can't get a Japanese car in as good shape for that cheap. It will cost more just because it is Japanese.
Looks good to me, just have a mechanic check it out. I have had really good luck with Cutlass Cieras, which are the same thing.

I am a supporter of the American Car market, but, I would recommend getting like a Honda or something. You can probably find a cheap one with a better engine.
