best car tires for what?
What type of driving?
What kind of car?
What kind of conditions?
What temperature?

Nobody can answer this question properly with the information given. Each car, and every possible condition play a part in the best tire. One maker may have the best summer tire, while another has the best all season, but only if it's on this type of car. See, too many.

I have run everything from street legal race tires and performance tires (I am an autocrosser) to truck tires. And in no particular order, Michelin/B.F. Goodrich, Bridgestone/Firestone, Pirelli, and General have served me well. I currently have Falken summer performance tires on my Maxima (but another vehicle for snow).

Goodyear is a mixed bag from ultimate performance tires (for a price) to cheap tires that either shread if driven hard, or wear like iron with no traction. In between they have tires that can work well.

On my "not recommended" list is Cooper. On a service truck their all terrain tires with visible sidewall depressions and bulges, were not round (lumpy on any road at any speed, even at a crawl) . Their all weather warranty replacements (also wavy sidewalls) had dangerous feeling lack of wet or dry braking traction (not to mention snow).

Those finally wore out, replaced with Pirelli which ride smoother despite more aggressive tread, seem to get slightly better gas mileage, and grip better on any surface.

Michelin gives you the best for the price. Good year and Firestone get all the hype from the racing tires but you aren't driving a race car.

In my opinion, Toyo makes the best tires. I have a 2003 Toyota RAV4, and I recently got new Toyo tires put on because the original tires were very noisy and rough. I am very pleased with my Toyo Versado tires that I currently have.

I worked at merchants and the best tires there were michelin. They were pretty expensive though. It also depends on what kind of car you're putting it on and for what reasons. But pretty much all car types and reasons, I would say michelin is one of the best.

go to a discount place, hell your not going to drive in the gran prix or the indy 500. You dont need 45000 mile tires especially on a used car. 35000 mile ones work just fine
