If you saw someone being beaten and then maybe dragged on the side of the road, or a child being abused on the side of the road. If you saw a bad car accident on the side of the road would you stop your car?

I have a 2006 Dodge ram 2500 cummins 4x4 and its a manual switching 4x4. When you try to switch it in 4x4 low it gets stuck and if you try to shift the automatic trany in R the lever that you switch gears starts to shake violently and if you try to switch the 4x4 back in 2H there is a loud grinding sound and it pops back to 2H. Is there a problem with the truck or am I not doing it correctly?

Looking over old answers, but not much specifically on the 380SLs. Any owners/former owners want to comment?

I would use the car for occassional commutes (55 miles round trip) and other short rides. It might get a trip of 200-500 miles once a year or so. Price wouldn't be too much of an issue-should be able to pay cash when ready to purchase at what the SoCal prices seem to be from Autotrader/eBay/Craigslist browsing.

Keep in mind that I live in the US.
When you make a right-turn, do you need to check for cars coming from the right? Naturally the only traffic that would merge would be the cars coming from the left, but is it still necessary to glance to the right before hand?

P.S. To all of you who live outside the US and drive on the left side of the road, just reverse the directions given and pursue the question as thus.

My blower used to work... just when it wanted to. I took it to the shop a few times. Each time it (the heater) wanted to work less and less until it wouldn't work at all. I had it checked out all the way to the switch and control panel and everything before the switch worked. I tried other switches from a junk yard (several of them). Is there a way to just by-pass all of this headache and shivering and just put a toggle switch on it or something. Might anyone know where I can find some info on a project like this. PLEASE, it's so cold outside!!!
Thanks

My 2000 Honda Civic LX has always been very quiet, but during the last year it sounds very loud, and the sound comes from the front of the car, I've checked the muffler and got under the car there's no loud noise from there, it is on the front under the hood, also there is no leaks or anything, what I do know it's that the A/C compressor is broken, could that be the problem? Or the exhaust manifold probably? I would say the loudest noise comes when between 20mph and 35mph. The car has 70,000 and I haven't changed the timing belt yet since manual says 105,000. Thank you for your help.

1990 Subaru Legacy

We are in Whitehorse, YT - fairly cold these days. We have to plug in the block heater for it to start (even at only -5 celsius). As well, once it starts, we need to hold the accelerator to keep the engine from stalling.

Last time it worked, it was very cold and difficult to start the car. When it did (while giving it gas) the rpm jumped up and then just crashed without having let off the accelerator (not normal).

Now, the starter will struggle through a couple of revs, and then start clicking. When the headlights are on, they dim while trying to start. I've tried starting while jumpered to another (running) vehicle - no luck. After trying a few times, the starter won't even rev at all - or click. The car just beeps at me.

Help?

I drive a 1998 Dodge Neon Sport. Recently, it seems that I am getting terrible gas mileage, sometimes as low as 25 mpg. I had also been filling it up with gas that contained 10% ethanol. But it suddenly jumped to 34 mpg when I bought gas that had no ethanol in it. My assumption is that my car is not designed to be fuel efficient with ethanol, but I don't know for sure. Anyone out there know for sure or know where I can find a defnitive answer?

I recently bought a 1964 ford f100 with a 292. Got it started today too. I was wondering what type of power this engine can make. I heard mixed reviews about this engine. Some say it horsepower is lacking while others say its a good engine. What i am wondering is what type of Horsepower ratings does the 1964 292 get and is capable of a burnout or just too weak?

Thanks

I bought a car knowing that odometer is not working for last three years. The odometer shows 126K but it actually is 148K. I just got the temporary tag. I need to get the inspection done to get permanent registration. My question is how big a deal is odometer discrepency? I dont care abt how much the mileage is because its a old car and i dont want to spend a lot of money on it. Is it possible to get registration done without fixing the odometer? If it luckily clears inspection will there be any problem when I report the mileage while registering it! your advise is valuable for me. Thanks!

im 18 and just got my license and thought, just for the fun of it to go down to a dealership to test drive a new car. i could play the "i have a rich father" act and wear some really expensive clothes and be like "excuse me, im in the market for a new car. no more than $40k....." and so on.

if i walk in there asking to test drive a new car, what will they do? i dont want them to be doing all background checks on me and looking into my bank accounts and what not.

I was in an accident, and major damage was done to my car. I am not sure if I am better off taking it to the dealership or an auto body shop, where they can do collision work as well.

I see work trucks all the time, with yellow or white flashing lights, how would one justify barring me, a private citizen to do the same, as they are privately owned vehicles. Blue is obviously illegal in some states because it is specialized for the police. In others red is used for the police as well as fire. In North Carolina can one have flashing red lights; technically we already have flashing red lights built in to our car by law.
