Do you change your battery automatically even if there doesn't seem to be any problems? Is there a certain mileage where you would do this? Are there any warning signs that you should change your battery before it actually dies and leaves you stranded somewhere? Any info pertaining to car batteries is appreciated.

I need a car but have been denied from my bank and other sources because I just don't have enough income. It's a catch-22 because I'm a student and only have enough time for a part-time job, so therefore I only make about $400 a month. One loan I haven't tried is a private after-Stafford loan from Sallie Mae and other companies. One of the criteria on the application is if you need money for book, supplies, transportation, etc. My question is: Would a $16,000 loan for a car count for the transportation needs? I have a piece of crap Jeep right now with other 200,000 miles that I fear is going to break down any time I drive it, if that helps.

Our 17 year old son has been caught speeding 3 times in past 7 months! He was 16 when he got caught first 2 times. Lawyer prevented loss of drivers license. If we, as parents, take his license away, the full burden of delivery/pickup falls on us. His school is 25 miles from home & he's a 3 sport athlete; drive to girlfriend's house is 50 minutes. We're talking major burden. Is loss of license the only thing that will work? I realize the danger of serious injury is first & foremost without a doubt. Has anyone tried anything else that worked for them? I'd like to hear from parents and a teenager who also had a "lead foot".

The starter was put in in 1998 when I bought my new Durango. It has been working great up until this summer. No matter how new the batteries are in the remote it seems like the signal is getting weaker and weaker. I practically have to be within 50 feet of the vehicle before it will start. That kinds of defeats the purpose. Any ideas. Do remotes wear out? get corroded? Thanks for your ideas.

I am considering buying a car, but would like some opinions. I have a 2003 Pontiac -based on Kelly's Blue Book it's worth around $5,500. I owe $7,500.00 on my current vehicle.
I would like lower monthly payments & w/a down payment can probably achieve this and have a new car.
BUT, is it better to pay off my current loan OR buy a new car w/lower interest and lower monthly payments?

Also, I'm going to finance my vehicle w/the same company my current loan is with. Do you think they'll give me a better interest rate since my credit w/them is good? (Only 1; 30-day late payment since my loan originated in 2004.

My 95 Jeep Cheorokee Larado decided it wasn't going to go today so it stopped on a corner, I was told to check my transmission fluid, it was bone dry, so I added it and then I started my car and put into drive, it spilled all the fluid out on the ground, there was enough in there to get me to work.

When I drive it, it smells like something is burning. is that normal? Its been like that since I bought the car 3 years ago, and it passed inspection so I figured it was alright but now its really bad. Anyone have any idea as to why its doing this?

And campaign for a traffic free school environment ?
Or should I just let everyine drive in front of school so that one day a kid is killed by a car ?
Will you all join me for a campaign for traffic free schools ?
After all, anyone driving their kids to school can use a car park !
Is it unreasonable to demand people use a car park and keep their SMELLY, DANGEROUS, POLLUTING and DEALDLY machines OFF our School lawn ?
(by the way i lead by example I refuse to drive and go everywhere by train with my kids, which is quite easy here in Switzerland).
By the way, you're all most welcome here !
Come on over and have a family holiday on the train
and explore the lakes and mountains !
Welcome, especially all you folks over there on the other side of the pond !

I looked on my chain and the chain manufacturer is RK. I know that I need to get a master link for an RK chain and know that it needs to be a 525 size chain. Does anything else matter as far as selecting the right master link?

I see another search engine has people pay to get answers and they split the money with so called "experts". http://motorcycle.justanswer.com/expert.aspx

Have you tried this? Did you make any money? Are you going to sign up and try it? Do you think Yahoo will turn to doing that?
