in my 88 dodge power ram 6.5 foot bed? it will shift and go into low gear and four wheel drive but the front axle dont work it worked 5 months ago and it hasnt worked since please help me figure my problem out

if it has automatic hubs on it they may need cleaned out and re-greased,if their manual lock in you may have to lock them in,if the transfer case is locking in on it this should engage it,check and make sure the transfer case is locking all the way in ,if it is and its not turning the front axle you may have transfer case problems,those have a simple system on them,if it has vacuum lines on it make sure their in good shape also,sometimes when they haven't been used in a while they will be a little stubborn to get to work again,if you have a manual on this one check in it also,good luck.

does it have auto hubs. if it does, more than likely they need replaced. get the truck in the air, all 4 tires off the ground. put it in 4wd and see if the front drive shaft is turning. if it is then your hubs are your problem. if the drive shaft is not turning then start looking at the transfer case.
