yes you can use them but make sure they are fastened together really good,90% of the time the problems that happen from using chains are because the user didnt fasten them down real good,they shouldnt hurt any brake lines at all,remember though you cant dive over 25 miles per hour with them,and dont run them on dry pavement,that will cause them to loosen up and do damage,their meant only fo severe snow and ice onditions,good luck.

unless u put them on wrong and leave them flapping they should not be near the cables/hoses
