When you have to weld on a frame of a motorcycle is there a risk of harming the charging system?? Say if i need to weld mounts for a different gas tank or the foot rest assembly??? What precautions do I need to take?

300 000 kms, oil leak but I keep it topped up, half a tank of gas, and I left the lights on all day but I got a boost and ran it for almost an hour to charge the battery. It was during this drive that it stalled, started again after a couple attempts and a few minutes' rest, and then died for good when I parked it a few blocks away. When I try to start it it cranks and occasionally revs a bit, but it never starts.

the sunroof will tilt open and then close, it doesn't matter which sunroof switch you push or which position. The manual says there may something stuck in the track but I've checked and nothing is in there. Any ideas as to what's wrong, i really dislike going to the dealer for small stuff?

My Nissan 200sx has over 140k miles on it and I dont think it is going to go much further. I have been considering rebuilding the engine and extending its life rather than buying a new car. Does anyone out there have a good idea of how much I am going to be spending if I hire a mechanic to do the job?

My1998 Ford F-150, 118,000 miles. My battery icon flashes off &on. all my lights constantly flicker, dashlights, headlights & domelights. Voltage needle also constantly moves between about 10 and 15 volts. Truck always starts, Voltage meter never goes higher or lower then normal but is the only guage needle that constantly moves?? Truck has new battery, and alternator, cables are clean. Engine is spotless. Any ideas??

Who can I call to report my local dealership?
They told me my clunking tranny was NORMAL on my 07 Sierra. No other truck I rode in has this problem! On top of that, My brother is the service manager in another state, and he has 3 service bulletins that have remedies for this problem, but they refuse to listen.

I have been so patient waiting my turn and one day a scooter passed us right down the middle straight to the front of the line. Now traffic jams, I go around them, if the light just turned red, I pull to the front.

I have a problem. My car was wrecked by an unlicensed driver. I didn't know that person's license was suspended. Will my insurance still cover it? My car is messed up pretty bad. He got a ticket, but I don't think the officer filed a report. Can I call it stolen or say I was driving? Or, would that be fraud? Also, how can I find out if the cop filed a report? Also, my car is not registered to me, but the insurance is in my name. Will the insurance cover me???? Thanks!!!!

I just want a rough estimate of the amount of horsepower required to actually spin just an alternator. I'm guessing it's very low but I could be wrong....the application would be for 4-6 fairly high output alternators run off one engine.
