I just purchased a pre-owned grand caravan and everytime you open the doors the hazard lights come on and flash. Has anyone experienced this and if so how do you stop it?
Thanks!

The hazards go off in unison to opening the door. When you use the key fob to open the power sliding door it will flash either the left or right depending on which door you opened. This lets you know that you have opened that door.
It cannot be turned off it will always work that way.It is also a safety feature to let people know someone is exiting the vehicle on that side. I would never recommend defeating any safety device. There is a reason they are there. And like I stated earlier it cannot be turned off.

To Dodge Man if you have been a certified mechanic for 37 years how can you not know this is a feature of the vehicle. Ive been selling Dodge for thirty years.

If you are talking about the side doors, that's a built in safety feature for people exiting the van. I really don't know if you can defeat it. But think about it. If some one opens the side door at night and jumps out, no one may notice it if the lights didn't flash. Front doors you can see open. side doors are harder to detect.

i think that is an option that can be turned off..try you overhead console. hit step then menu (or the other way around) and scroll thru the choices. you may be able to do it yourself. if not the dealer should be able to go into it and shut it off. if you bought it there you should be ok. if not you may be charged because this is an option

your best bet on this one is to take it back to the dealer, its still under warranty,so let them worry about the problems with it,you,ll have to deal with it,when the warranty runs out,but for now take it back and let them deal with it,good luck on it.

It is normal for this to happen. It is a safety feature that I would recommend disconnecting,I think that you can't disconnect it.
