Okay this really isnt a registration question its a brake question. About 6 months ago my friend had their brakes changed. About 2 weeks ago she got her car inspected for registration.

Last night the bold that holds the calipar on came out and froze up the brake.

She was wondering who didnt tighten the bold. I said I dont know when they check brakes if they have to remove a bolt to look at them for inspection. Does anybody know?

I have a brand new truck. About two months after purchase, the brakes starting squeaking real loud. After I mentioned this to the dealer, I was told that the trucks are coming like that from the factory, that these new truck brakes are being made out of a new material. I was told there was nothing they could do. I said that's bull****, something needs to be done. My truck currently is in the shop for another reason and they told me they would look at the brakes. I know nothing will be done though. They just told me that to try and keep me quiet. What should I do to get my brakes fixed? Do I have a case if I need to take it further?

I have a 600cc Katana. I have only riden for the summer, but I would like to continue to ride in the winter.

My first question... what is the best leg gear to wear in cold weather? Are chaps appropriate for a sports bike? Are there alternatives (because I work in an office environment that requires kakis)?

Second question. Sometimes when I down shift while applying my back brakes, I believe that my back tire skids for a split second. Is this normal?

i paid over 700 to have my brakes fixed at Midas and i want to know if i was screwed over. i had to replace the rear pads and rotors and the rear driverside caliper. i know that parts arent that expensive, they used the cheapest ones, or so they say. it just seems to me like i paid WAY TOO MUCH to have just about two hours worth of work done.

The insurance company on the car is now claiming they have a clause in their insurance policy that says, if the driver of the vehicle did not have legal permission, then their company is not responsible for the damages to my car.

What can I do, my car is messed up and someone is going to pay for it

I have recently replaced my tires and the ride and handling are great. I replaced them with the same tires and at 40k miles, even though they are warranteed for 60k miles.

So why is it the tread was still up to par but the handling was so poor in comparison to when they are new? Also the tires felt soft in comparison to when they are new, even though they were filled to specs with air?

They promote them as if they will perform like new until the warranty, but obviously they don't handle and feel that way.

Any ideas would be appreciated

I've replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel regulator, MAP sensor, breather filter. What else can it be? Oh yea also NO VACCUM LEAKS.

I got the front driver side cv joint replaced this weekend on my 93 Altima. That was the only side that needed done. Now its making a loud grinding sound the whole time you drive, it almost sounds like brakes grinding, but it is all the time, except when car is completely stopped. I'm taking it back this afternoon to have it looked at, but anyone have ideas what this will be?? Thanks

I have a 2000 civc that runs fine, it will be paid off next year. I've been thinking of buying a 2nd car to use as a back up, just in case the one I have breaks down for some reason or whatever. If for some reason or another my car was in the shop I'd be screwed and I don't like asking other people for rides or favors. I could also drop rental car coverage off my insurance. This car is going to be very lightly driven but I just don't want something to be more trouble then its worth.
