South Eastern had been using the same branding as the Government owned interim company. It wouldn't surprise me if the goverment is trying to claim copyright fees on the old branding.
Its just a coat of paint, and as long as their isn't any mass repainting and things are done when needed I wouldn't worry about it.
And on the plus side, the stations are getting a regular repaint. something BR tended not to do (ie Exeter Central was still in 1940s green up to the late 1980s)

It is the new Southeastern colour scheme as already applied at selected stations including Waterloo East. As with fellow Govia company Southern, the TOC branding is only displayed at the ends of the platforms.
The colours are also used as the base livery of the new class 395 trains for St Pancras to Kent services.

Blue & Yellow was the old Connex colours & Southeastern trains does not want any connections with them (Connex) as they was such a bad company if you remember the Goverment ended up taken the contract off them & runnning the services for about a year untill the new franchise was decided.
As for Lilac & Purple it looks OK I think.
By the way Southeasterns parent company is the same as Southern.

Trouble is the franchise has to have a different colour schemes to everyone elses so the trains, stations etc are recognisable. And when one company folds they dont lose their colour brand as it is part of the franchise.

It just confirms my long held belief that privatisation of the UK rail services was promoted by the makers of paint and coach vinyls.

Apparently, those colours are more soothing and tend to calm people down. Who knows really?
